There are two types of "points".
- REWARD CREDITS: Earned as you play. You can spend them on rooms, food, etc.
- TIER CREDITS: Earned as you play. Not available for spending on anything. Tier Score determine your Gold, Platinum, or Diamond rating. Starting January 1, as soon as your Tier Score hits 4000 you become Platinum, or 11,000 you become Diamond. You have to earn another 4000 or 11,000 Tier Credits in the next year to maintain the Tier.
Reward Credits all expire in six months if you don't earn at least one (1) point, or Reward Credit in the six months after you earned the last one. Example: If your last casino play is on April 30, and you have accummulated 5000 Reward Credits, you must play (or use the credit card) and earn at least 1 Reward Credit by October 30 (or 31st?) to maintain those points, otherwise they go to zero. You can earn RCs at any of the Harrah's casinos anywhere.
Tier Credits remain in your profile until the calendar year ends, as VegasWatcher said. Then it starts all over, whether you earn enough Tier Credits in the next year to maintain that Tier.
Lizzyj, this very well may be myth, but some say that low level table play lowers your average (and thus would affect your Tier Score. I play $10 Blackjack when I'm tired and/or done with losing at $1 VP, LOL. I never give my players card at the tables, for fear it will lower rather than raise my average. That could be wrong. For the same reason, for the few minutes that I play penny machines, again for diversion, I don't use my card. This could be total baloney.
