TR 19 - 23 June and an airline mis - adventure

Left CVG and arrived on Sunday afternoon to find out that 400,000 folks were attending the EDC over at the Las Vegas Speedway. After an uneventful cab ride to Four Queens, I was put up in room 1419 in the North Tower. I saw a few of the folks that attended the EDC, must of been some kind of party....

On Monday, breakfast was at the MSS Buffet, scrambled eggs, corned beef hash, potatoes and sausage gravy. Tried my had at Megabucks and won a fast $90. Wondered around various casinos downtown losing all the way. Checked out the neonopolis toy shack, saw a transormer I have it lists for $35.

Tuesday was strip day, breakfast was at the Peppermill, good food and at a reasonable price. Walked by the Riveria, man what a sight very hard to see it being partialy torn down. My goal was to pick up a collection of the porn slapper cards for a co-worker. To my suprize the damn slappers all disappeared! More losing until I got to NY NY where I played the King Kong penny slot. There was a number of stories Kong had to climb until you reached the bonus. I played a $20 until it ran out and noticed I only had about 4 floors to go before the bonus, so I put down another $20 and hit the bonus round for 1,000 pennies times a 3X and 10X multipliers. 30,000 pennies later I had my best win of the trip. Made my way over to the Rio and checked out some of the action at the World Series of Poker. Watched at bit of Event #34: $1500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball (Limit) saw Eric Seidel with the largest stack of chips at the table. He ended up finishing 35th in the event.

After returning from the strip, the elevators in the Four Queens were having issues with the heat. The service elevator and another one for the North Tower were out leaving only one for most of the day. This would become a re-occuring issue through out my stay. More losing at slots was to follow...

Wednesday was more of the same (losing I mean) however one bright spot was I got a 4 Queens on JOB which qualified for a 50th anniversary prize (a coffee mug). It was the only 4OK I received the whole trip.

Thursday was going home day, got to the airport only to be greeted by a huge line at the Allegiant departures, stood in line for an hour before I found out that the line was only for folks with checked bags. zipped through security (one thing you can count on in Vegas is going through security in 10 minutes or less). Waited at the gate and the plane was no where to be found, they said it was undergoing maintenance and would be done shortly. Well shortly turned out to be Friday.

They paid for a hotel stay at the all suite Alexis Park all suite resort, which is across the street from the Hard Rock. Crappy place, but great location. We also received a $100 voucher for future air travel good for one year. Scoped out the Hard Rock, played some slots and of course lost. Ate dinner at Mr Lucky's. The Club sandwich was good but the portion size was a bit on the large side. Uneventful flight back on Friday, although the cat was acting like "oh it's you, clean out the litter box and I'll go back to sleep".

It's great to be home?
30,000 pennies was a nice score. And getting delayed never is fun but when it's in Las Vegas and they put you up at a hotel and $100 voucher, it helps.
30K pennies was quite nice, although I still haven't seen the voucher....
Nice win on the penny machine. I am staying at the 4 Queens soon . I hope they get the elevators fixed. Have you ever used the go green for 10credit?. I use it ,it pays for my breakfast at Magnolias. I just go down and get coffee and towels when I need them.

when I stayed there in May, I requested the $10 credit. I just realized a few days ago that I did not get it. I should have noticed that when I checked out. :-( so beware -- make sure you actually get the $10 credit.
Good report! I fly out of CVG and Allegiant always seems on the edge of going bankrupt. Your options are limited but Frontier seems a little better value since their flight times give you longer in LV. I'm out again in July. Thanks for posting.
