TR from Dover Downs...sorry it's not Vegas

Dover Downs 8/3 - 8/4

I had a great little getaway. I left a couple hours later than I wanted to and then ran into a big traffic jam from an accident. It's amazing enough how rude people are in daily traffic, but it is unforgivable the way some acted during this. They shut the road down as a helicopter was landing to help save someones life and this idiot in a huge SUV with blacked out windows rolled down just enough so you could feel the bass go right through you and let's not forget the chrome spinners,
anyway he just drove over a few cones and flares and tried to get through. The cops had him cornered before he reached the other side.
It was entertaining to watch them pull everyone out and do everything up to the point of not crossing the legal line in repremanding this guy before taking him away. I couldn't hear anything, but he was pretty irate, waving his fists and pointing to one of his passengers, then she right on cue would double over as in pain. lol
I wonder what kind of charge that is. MIns. later the road was cleared and hopefully everyone survived.

I arrived at DD at 7:20pm, just 10 mins. before the Elite lounge closes. Oh well, thats the way it goes. I usually go because it's easy, free and I need to put something in my stomach if I am going to be at the tables for hours. I decided to grab a sandwhich at the little shop in the lobby.
I'm glad I did...lol

The gambling....

$40 FSP
I went to the virtual BJ area and they have implemented a new policy. No FSP on these machines. Well that sucks. So I found a 2cent machine 45 credits/spin. I couldn't tell you hat it was, but it had a free spin feature which I hit when I was close to being out of free credits with only $9.30 to cash out. The free play was 12 free spins and I wasn't getting much until the 11th spin and I hit a bunch of triple 7's and 2 - 2 X's on the line. I cashed out at $163.80.

$430 MP's
I got these in $10 denominations and went to a $10 BJ table.
I saw one of my fav. dealers and sat at her table. I waited for a new shoe and the 4 hands I watched were brutal. Of course they would have been different if I had joined in, but I usually wait if its close to the end. The dealer got a 7 card 21 and 2 BJ's, then broke on the last hand after 3 of the other 4 players busted.
A new shoe and 1 more player is all it took. 1st hand I got a BJ along with 2 others and the rest won. Nice way to start. They have had tables for 1 year, but the MP's are fairly new and they are somewhat confused on how they can be played on dd's and splits. I thought you could use a MP on a split but not a dd. Some said this was correct and others said it was the opposite..so I just threw it up there for any split or dd and the dealer was letting it go.
I ended up with $735. after my 43 MP's staying with $10 bets. I probably should have raised, but I wanted to stick to my game plan.
Now it's time to go to $25 and up. I was playing 2 hands after awhile and could do no wrong. After about 5 hours I was ready to drop. Even this one guy asked what happened to me? I said , "I hit the wall".

The next morning
It was getting close to 10:00am and I wanted to hit the lounge before it closed at 10:30. I made it and got 3 cups of coffee in me and some fruit and a bagel. I needed it as I was a bit fuzzy.
lol
I was happy in the am when I saw my chips and the tito I never cashed.
The beers were going down really fast at the tables. I only made a couple drinks to take down with me. One when I first when down and one before I played BJ.
I had $1,355 in chips and the $163.80 tito.
I decided I would be happy going home with $1,000.
So I now have a little over $500 to play with. I went to Spanish 21 and lost $200. Ok, I moved to Let it Ride and lost another $200.
crap...lol
I took the last $100 and went to a BJ table with the Match the Dealer side bet. I put $5 on that along with my $10 BJ bet. 1st hand I get a triple match for $150...woohoo.
I then made my bets $20 for my reg. and $10 on the side bet. 4 hands later, another triple match for $300.
I didn't leave that table until 5pm after sitting down around noon. I had $670. I wanted to leave at that point then realized the traffic I would run into. I think I will try my luck at some slot machines that look like they have fun bonus rounds.
I should have sat in the traffic...lol
No problem...I had a blast and still came home with the $1,000.

My next trip with be Sun. 8/14 as that is Elite gift weekend. The gift is a Keurig coffee brewing system. It's the mini one but retails for $100. I can chose that or take $100 FSP. It used to be a no brainer, I would get the FSP and go to virtual BJ. Now I'm thinking I might want this gift. I have used them and do like them.
Anybody here have an opinon? (I mean on the Keurig machine..lol)

Thank you for reading.

Congratulations on a successful trip. I'd probably get the coffee maker myself versus the FSP. Good luck on your 8/14 trip and thanks for writing.
Nice win. Ain't matchplay grand? Oh, I still have tons of free crap from casinos over the years...I have no FSP. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.
Great read chipchik, very enjoyable and really cool came home a winner. I'd take the FSP over the coffee maker personally, but not my choice. Cograts!

I love my keurig. Would jump at getting a free small one.
Any time you can break even or ahead, its a great trip.Don't be sorry about not being Vegas,I have been to Vegas over 70 times from Ohio,I don't care to go to Vegas as much anymore,Harrah's flys us any where we want. That's why we like to go to New Orleans,Laughlin and Tunica.
Thanks for the cheers on my win.
I am 50/50 on the Keurig. I may play a bit of BJ and see how that goes...if I get $100 ahead, I could put that away and get the K.
"nyway he just drove over a few cones and flares and tried to get through. The cops had him cornered before he reached the other side.

I was thinking about this and i thought it might be hilarious if the cop called his bluff and escorted the people to the ER. Stick his and her asses with a big ol' ER bill.

J
lol....that would have been funny.
Perhaps they sent her to the jail infirmary.
