Trevi Italian Restaurant vs Buddy V's Ristorante........your thoughts please

During our "Boys" trip to Vegas over Labor Day, I'm considering one of these two Italian restaurants for Saturday night's dinner. Buddy's has the advantage of being in our hotel, but then again Caesars Forum Shops is not a long walk for Trevi.

Does the Forum Shops outside of Trevi still have the simulated sky going through a 24 hour day every 60 minutes?

Please give me your thoughts on both or one of these joints?
I've had good meals at both places, can't go wrong with either. At Buddy V's I got Grandma's Sunday Gravy. It was rigatoni w veal, sausage and meatballs in the sauce. It was amazing, just like my Grandma makes in Pittsburgh! Trevi will be a little more busy I'd imagine due to it's location in a shopping mall. Great food there, I just don't remember what I ordered.
Big fan of Trevi..Love the Lasagna..
Thank you for the input. Keep it coming!

I ate there last September with my adult children and was not impressed. The food was mediocre and over priced. The waiter brought the wrong entree for my son, put it on the table and walked away; I had to get up and chase him and bring him back to the table to get it straightened out. My son didn't get his food until the rest of us were almost done with our meal. The manager gave me what I consider an insincere apology. Our waiter was one of the worst servers that I have encountered in more than 40 plus trips to Vegas. Needless to say this place will not see me again. I'd rather go to Bastista's Hole in the wall, for mediocre Italian food...at least they treat you a lot better there.
Did you have troubles at Trevi or Buddy V's? Thanks for the input!

Sorry, my rant was aimed at Trevi's
I've never dined at Trevi. Partly because it strikes me as a tourist trap situated on the ideal three-way intersection of the Forum Shoppes. After reading your post I checked out various foody sites and it does not score particularly well.

If I recall correctly, your group enjoyed Carmines last year which was an ideal fit for your group and budget. I think Trevi might be a letdown. Not part of the equation, but might I recommend Portofino?
I've eaten at Buddy V's twice and left happy both times

The first visit was Sunday brunch, which was a nice departure from the usual brunches. Fantastic cold food outlay and featured most of their popular dishes. It was a nice assortment of Italian specialties.

The second visit was last yeat during Restaurant Week. I had the meatballs (really good), salad (nice and crisp) and spaghetti carbonara (delightfully rich and sinful).

I think they offer an early "theater menu as well which is similar to the restaurant week menu.

Joy
Thanks for all of the great input. We will be dining at Buddy V's. I received better input from you folks, plus it's in our hotel. 24 days and counting!
