Well now that I am back from another trip to Vegas I suppose it's time to write my trip report. I have been to Vegas every year since 2006 and twice in 2008. It's amazing how much changes every year. I was there a whole week so I will try and cut the report down as much as I can.
1/15- Flight was out of Detroit and was suppose to take off shortly after 8. We got out of Detroit about a half hour late, and for no reason. It was a full flight, and was not a fun flight. Flight time was a little over 4 hours, and there were a bunch of drunk 50 year old women behind us. They had a big party going out there to celebrate someones 50th birthday, and they started partying on the plane. Finally landed in Vegas around 9:30. It was a busy weekend because of MLK weekend and Miss America. Took the shuttle to Alamo and got the car. Finally got got to Imperial Palace around 11. After checking in and getting to the room it was already about 11. We had 5 nights comped at Imperial Palace and got a high floor balcony room facing carnival court. We always request those rooms as we like the view and enjoy the music. Headed out and started walking down to NYNY to get a pizza from Sirricos. Stopped at Bills for awhile and did some gambling. I lost a quick $25 and waited around for the wife. She did well and won something like $40. Finally got down to NYNY around 2 A.M. and ordered the pizza. Had to wait about 20 minutes for it to cook so like most people we just went to the casino. I lost another quick $20 waiting for the pizza, but the wife did decent and won another $20 or so. Finally ate the pizza which was amazing, and started to head back to Imperial Palace around 3. Made a quick stop at Walgreens to pick up some snacks and beverages. Got back to Imperial Palace around 4 and did some gambling to about 6. I lost probably another $40, but the wife was up around $100 by the time we went to sleep.
1/16- I woke up around 9:30 A.M....ugh. Not enough sleep, but this seems to always happen when I am in Vegas. I normally only get around 4 hours of sleep a night while I am there. I just took a quick shower and went out to the balcony for awhile to enjoy the nice weather. It was suppose to be in the high 60's, and that seems almost hot compared to Detroit! Wife woke up around 10, and I just hung out on the balcony while she was getting ready. Headed downstairs around 11 and used one of the BOGO free coupons at the Imperial Palace buffet. I enjoy their breakfast buffet. I have heard bad things about the dinner buffet, but I have no complaints about their breakfast buffet. It has been decent everytime I have had it. Got done around noon and headed to Terrible's to use the $100 slot coupon. Took a few hours to lose the $100. I was down to about $20, but got to spin the wheel on the $1 Wheel of Fortune. I hit for $60 and was back up to $80. I eventually lost the money and headed back to Players Club Booth. Got the $100 added with no problems. Went back and played 5 play video poker. It didn't take long to go back through the $100 on 5 play video poker. After the free play was done I ended up $20 ahead. It was nice to be there for about 4 hours, and end up $20 ahead. Great coupon. The wife used hers and also ended up like $30 ahead. Good win for both of us. After that we headed back to the strip, but stopped at Hooters first. Wife had a promotional free play coupon for being a new sign up. She got to play those stupid machines you almost never win it. She hit for $25 free play (her trip was going good so far). I lost another $30-$40 bucks there, and she left up $20. After that we headed to MGM. Did a little gambling, but lost another $30 or so. We walked over to Outback Steakhouse and ate there. We had a $50 gift card so it ended up being a free meal. After the meal we walked back through MGM and the wife stopped at the American Idol slot machine and won another $40. I just stood there watching and wondering what I have been doing wrong so far lol. Parked back at Imperial Palace and walked down to Casino Royale. Played some video poker there, but didn't do well. Lost another $30 there. Wife won a little bit there, but don't remember how much. After that we stopped at Harrah's. I actually ended up winning here. I left $40 ahead, but the wife lost around $50. Got back to Imperial Palace around 3 A.M. Did a little bit more gambling, and headed up to the room around 4.
1/17- Slept in until about 10 lol. Showered and went downstairs to do some gambling while the wife was getting ready. I went back up around 11, and was only $10 down. Not bad with how the trip had been going. Wife was ready so we headed out. Since it was now Monday we headed out to pick up our LVA coupon book. Picked up the book no problems and headed over to Gold Coast. Went to TGIF for lunch since we had a $25 gift card for there. Another free meal. Used the $10 free play coupon while there. Played a little after that and left even. After there we headed over to the Palms. Stayed there for a few hours. I ended up doing well there and left $100 ahead. Wife didn't do good there and left $50 down or so. I guess we both just can't leave a place as both winners. After there we drove to the Riveria because we had tickets I had won on Ebay from Vegas4Locals to see Dr. Scott Lewis comedy hypnosis. Show was at 9 I think, and it was only around 6 when we got there. We used the coupon to get $30 free play after playing $50. We both actually left winners from it. I think she left around $30 ahead, and I was $20 ahead. We then walked over to Slot A Fun, and Circus Circus. Neither of us did well at either of those places. It was not 8 and I was starving! We didn't have much time before we just grabbed some McDonald's before the show. The show was pretty close to sold out. Dr. Scott Lewis was actually on vacation and then hired someone to fill in. The show ended up being alright, but nothing great. I think Marc Savard is much better. After there we drove down to Sahara for some cheap blackjack and hot dogs. I don't think the hot dogs were as good this year as they were last year. Slot machines continued to take my money. I ended up coming out even at the blackjack table. Left there around 3 A.M. or so and headed back to Imperial Palace. After getting back to Imperial Palace we just called it a night.
