Trip report 9/28-10/1

Well, had another fabulous time in Vegas with my girlfriend. We really didn't want to come back this time, we had lot's of fun.

9/28-
We arrived at about 4:15 pm and headed straight to NYNY to eat at the Jewish deli. It was awesome as usual. We then headed to the Mandalay Bay to check in. Check in was painless and quick. There were still alot of people for it being a Wednesday. Our room was on the 13th floor right by the elevators and ice machine which was nice. The room was facing the west and our view was of THE hotel and the mountains. We had a beautiful sunset every evening.

We decided to head to Cesars Palace for some desert. Handed the truck to valet and in the forum shops we went. Got some ice cream from the food court for both of us. Great as usual. Looked around at the overpriced forum shops and then did some gambling on the slots. We played the progressives and VP and didn't win squat. Not even a penny at any time. We left back to our room for the night.

9/29-
Woke up at about 10:00am got ready and headed out to the Mirage for lunch. We had the buffet there. It was pretty darn good. The deserts were amazing. We then gambled on the slots. I got a seat on that new wheel of fortune machine with the big led screen on the wall and four or five seats for people to play. I actually won about $57.00, but then I put it back in and didn't win squat. My girlfriend played the machine as well when a seat opened up. But didn't win anything.

We left and then headed to the Coke and M&M store for gifts. Got a couple of things in the coke store. I had the truck valet at MGM since it was the closest to park to get to the stores. After that we went back to the room to get ready to go out for the night.

We got all dressed up and headed to THE mix nightclub @ THE hotel. I hate those types of places, but I wanted to take my girlfriend there to at least say I went to a club in Vegas. I only paid $10 to get in as I was a guest at Mandalay, she got in free. The view in this place is absolutely amazing, has to be the best view in Vegas!!! I will post pics later. The place was loud as hell and not crowded at all. Bunch of empty tables that were for bottle service only lol. We stayed there about 2 hours and then went to CVS to buy a few things. I also decided to cruise the north end of the strip with my truck. Saw the Sahara lights off for the first time and all the abandoned projects from last time.

One thing I did see were the lights on in the Fountain Blu building. There were lights randomly on different floors. Like workers were in there Anyway, headed home for the night after CVS.

9/30-
Got up at 9:00am and headed to the Starbucks inside the Mandal shops. It was packed!! Walked through the mall and accessed the Luxor. We hit up Starbucks there and it was alot better. Not really anyone in line at all. Got some joe and then went shopping in the Mandalay Bay shoppes for a bit.

We then headed to our reservation for lunch at The Eiffel Tower Resteraunt. Lunch was awesome and not that expensive. I had the French blt and my girlfriend had some kind of crab salad. We had the best table in the place. Right on the north west corner facing the Belllagio fountains!! Too bad there was no water show at the time Anyway, we took lot's of pics and off we went.

We headed towards the north end of the strip to the biggest gift shop in Vegas. That's the name of it I think. We were in there for a few hours buying gifts for the family. After that we went back to the hotel room to get ready to go out for the night.

We headed to City Center/Aria to eat some dinner at Julio Serrano's. Excellent Mexican food!!!! Not very expensive either. Place was packed. We were there until 11:30 pm. Walked around Crystals after that for a while. Next morning we checked out by phone. Easy and painless check out. That's pretty much it.
welcome back!

Thanks for a nice report. Julian Serrano restaurant is on my list of things "To Do" when I get into town for SEMA. I've heard many good reports about their food (but it's Spanish, not Mexican, - not a burrito in sight LOL! ). Glad to hear you enjoyed it as well! Looking forward to enjoying some Tapas & Paella in a just a few more weeks!

Unless they have changed, you can't use reward credits at the restaurant, unlike most restaurants in the Caesar's Group.

It is a terrific place and is the same owners as Mon Ami Gabi, Joe's Seafood Fine Steak and Stone Crab, and Stripburger.

Like Mon Ami Gabi, you should be able to charge your meal from the Eiffel Tower restaurant to your room and pay with reward credits at check-out. You might want to email customer service ahead of time to be sure.
Excellent reporting, short and informative for my ever fading attention span...LOL.
I also appreciate hearing about the Eiffel Tower eatery. Might have to do that one some day!
I love Julien Serrano and their excellent Tapas but you must have chosen different items than we did to say not very expensive.
They have excellent Sangria which we will be having again.

the internet tells me i can charge it to my room and apply total rewards credits when i check out.

One thing I did forgot to mention in my report was, I saw a film crew filming the show VEGAS STRIP. The show that is on court tv. I saw the officer nicknamed "green eyes" with someone he had pulled over. It was in front of the Bellagio fountain.
when did the eiffel tower restaurant start serving lunch? I will have to go check out their lunch menu
