Trip Report - does anyone care ?

It has been a while since I did a trip report; but this trip was special.
10 days and covered 4 hotels, 10 restaurants and some typical Vegas places.

To Begin, this trip was for GF and my parents to visit Vegas, so I was part BF and part tour guide.

I will Summarize at end of day 1 with ratings and places of food, hotel etc.

Day 1
Arrived late night and picked up car.
Dollar rental, cheapest was for $300.00 for the 10 days...biggest cost was the daily fees for the
"use of the car", "facility fee" - I mean 8 of the 10 days I never used the rental facility and the taxes.
Car was $122 for the week, $21.00 per day extra = $185.00 and fianl cost was $306.00 (after fees, taxes)
But for 10 days of no cabs it was much cheaper to pay the 300.00.
Checked into Encore and time was 11pm...but checkin was a breeze...
NOTES: Encore crowd definately have money and they like to show it. A little more subdude crowd; but very nice.
HOTEL: Encore (2 nights comped and 2 nights at dicount rate)
CAR: Dollar rental

Day 2
Took GF to her conference (rental car already paying off) at Mirage...what have they done to this place
It is so dark, dark brown cieling, dim lighting, oh for the days of Chevy Chase and Vegas vacation.
I am so glad we did not stay there. Very crowded with what seemed like Midwestern, mean (yes slightly overweight) people.
Back to Wynn and Encore and straight to Tableau for Breakfast. What a contrast from the dark, miserable place the Mirage has become to the bright, cheery light infused place of Tableau and their perfect Breakfast.
NOTES: This is a vacation, we saved for this vacation so we can enjoy some finer things in life - like the perfect breakfast experience of Tableau.
Then off to the Pool for 1 hour (already 95 at 10:30) and back to room and pickup GF.
Back to Wynn and let the donations to Stevie Wynn's bank account begin. I am down $300.00 in 2 hours with GF up $250.00 in 3 hours. So I am off to the room to relax, watch some TV and enjoy the room. A couple hours later, collect the GF and we get ready for dinner.
This is the part of vegas we love. getting ready for a nice night out. Shower, shave, cleanup, dress nice and down to restaurant. Then a walk around to Wynn and some gambling and people watching.
NOTES: No better time than first full night in vegas, dressing up, nice food, gambling, lubrication
RESTAURANT: Sinatra 5 of 5 stars and there is no better Lasagna in America..awesome
RESTAURANT: Tableau 5 of 5 starts, their Breastfast is the most relaxing experience in vegas.
HOTEL: Encore, room service was quick, asked for more soap and they left 4 bars in a nice wrapped package.

Day 3
Back to the Dungeon (my nickname for the Mirage now) for day 2 of conference (only 3 hours a day) and I quickly return to my safe zone of Wynn.
MY GF was hoping I was not going to do a "drive by drop off"...drive slowly outside of mirage and push her out. BUT, although it crossed my mind, i drove to self parking, and walked her to the room and gently kissed her wishing her a fun 3 hours.
I went to Society Cafe for my second favorite breaskfast...Frosted Flake covered french Toast...heaven.
Then of to the pool for 1 hour of reading.
Picked up GF and we went off back to Wynn, I asked her if she wanted to gamble at Mirage and I got "one of those LOOKS".....all men know what I am talking about.
We gambled a little and I got ANOTHER of those LOOKS from the GF (another look all men know...
VERY different meaning than the other look), so up to the room we went....I love Vegas.
This was perfect timing (wow I am good) for us to get ready for our dinner. Shower, dress, and off to lakeside restaurant. Gambling was good, better at Wynn, more people, better vibe, and busy. GF was down only 100.00 for 4 hours play as for me...well it was off to the sports book to slow to pace down.
NOTES: Mirage self parking escalator..you take this from parking to Check-in is a 1 person escalator. As a result a couple with twins and a twin pram had to disassemble before navigating the escalator and a Old couple had to stop holding (supportring) hands to go down escalator.
RESTAURANT: Society cafe, 4 of 5 starts...french taost was nice; but was not the tableau breakfast.
RESTAURANT: lakeside, sat by lake of dream, what better place in vegas. Butterscotch cream dessert was amazing
HOTEL: Room was cleaned in morning and fresh towels brought in Evening.

Ok, if you like this, let me know i will complete rest of the trip., I do not see many reports anymore and I am not sure if people are still interested in reading them.

Also post any questions you have possitive and negative.
I am INTERESTED in more trip report.

Love the Wynn.
Loved Sinatra.

Very interested in this Tableau breakfast that you speak of- will add this to my list of must dos.
Never enough Trip Reports and they are Never Long Enough! Keep it coming in full detail!!
diane
Heck yeah! Keep going!! Not sure how long it will be until we get to go again. Living through others experiences helps ease the pain.

Thanks for taking the time to post your trip report; look forward to reading the rest of your trip experience. Only 29 more days and I will be making my own Vegas trip notes.

Glasses can affect your vision; especially when they have been emptied several times...........
Perfect so far. Keep 'em coming andrew5499!
I agree about Mirage being so dark. I like nice bright casinos, except DT where the older dark ones are cool.
How did you do in the sportsbook?
Yes. Keep the TR coming.
Love trip reports.
What did you have fore breakfast at Tableau?
Keep it coming never enough TRs for me.
It's that '80's dining experience. Dark everything with dimmed lights, it's supposed to make things more "romantic". I think it makes everything look like crap and reading a menu is very hard especially at my age I need light to see.

Nice TR and "that look" makes what you lost in the casino look like a few pennies.
