For those of us scoring at home, I think the play goes into the books in this manner:
Poor old Don Diego (PODD) posts a quote attributed to GOP presidential candidate Donald J. Trump.
Trying to make a point to The Dude as part of an ongoing series of political debates, Idiot (aka Douchebag) uses the quote function on the message board provided by Las Vegas Advisor founder Anthony Curtis (which from time to time actually has Las Vegas information on it). In an effort to highlight a particular passage of said quote, Idiot omits lines from a cascading litany of quoted messages, including any reference to the quote originator; PODD.
The Dude cries foul, issuing a single word response; "Misquote".
Idiot assumes The Dude's rather vague response is directed to the text of the quote itself, when in fact The Dude is more or less objecting to a perceived breach in "quote etiquette".
PODD is left confused by the exchange, and requests clarification. If the issue is an inaccurate quote of something said by Mr. Trump that PODD initially posted, being a man of good character, PODD will undoubtedly issue a sincere apology to the nominee. It does appear like PODD is in the clear.
And actually, Mr. Trump really needs no "quote revisions" from anyone (even PODD) to garner headlines and spark debate - - he does quite well on his own.
