So, he screwed his own donors by raising the rent he pays himself by almost 5 times what he was paying when he was self-funding. I wonder if Mike Pence is going to call for a special prosecutor to be appointed. This type of self-dealing is a classic conflict of interest.
Self-dealing, as in a candidate that uses vendors that he himself owns, is done all the time and is perfectly legal. However, the candidate must charge fair market value. If the $35,000 was too low, then Mr. Trump was making an illegal unreported contribution in kind to his campaign. If the $170,000 is too high then he is illegally profiting off his campaign.
One way or another Trump broke campaign laws, and it will probably be handled with a fine after the election. I don't expect to hear any liberals shout "Lock him up!" We're not infants.
