In my case, the evidence is overwhelming. I'm much better off.
My real estate investments did well, my portfolio more than doubled in that time, my health insurance is less than a third of what is was, and is much better.
Is the country better off? Wall St is up, military deployments are down, unemployment is down, the number of uinsured is down.
Obviously there are some down points,as well but the bottom line is
I'd much rather relive 2009-2012 than 2001-2004.
If Clinton will be a third Obama term, sign me up.
Welcome to the 2%!
Is is great. I too am better off than 8 years ago. Of course I would be better off no matter who was president. But let us take a little look at things if I was not in the position I was 8 years ago. What if I was starting off like I was in '80. Nope, I would still be poor. Opportunities would have been blocked. For every hard fought step forward I would be shoved two steps back.
"But that's OK" say the progressives, "we will take care of you". I would be given a crappy place to live. Money for food that I could trade for drugs and alcohol, and substandard health care.
The policies of the present and future administrations chain the poor to their poverty.
But hey, you are doing great. That's all that matters.
I'm more like in the 7%, but I believe the average American is better off today than eight years ago.
The average american isn't better off and here's why, because the population has gone from 304 million to 324 million, with an extra 20 million people in your way competing for cash and resources, as well as inflation, its hard to be better off. wasn't money market interest paying 4 or 5 percent in 2007 and 2008 and now its 0? how is that 'better off'?
also, lets even assume we are 'better off' now than we were, does that mean we just accept the status quo and elect hillary? all she's going to do is let millions of more people into the borders to compete for jobs and resources, how does that help the crime rate as well as the 'way of life'? do we really need 'more people'? im pretty sure we don't.
if we are at "X" right now, why stay pat at X? why not try and get even better? there's a LOT of room for improvement, why not go for the person who wants to improve things and improve our way of life vs the person who isn't going to change a thing? if you're not getting better you're getting worse, we can't afford to sit back
