Too small a force helps no one. Too big a force and how does one move them. The. You have the problem of finding the secret annex.
Life is so easy when you don't give it much thought.
That statement shows a complete and total lack of military knowledge and/or understanding.
The evidence made public shows that a rescue would have had a chance of at least partial success. Reinforcement would more than likely have made a difference in lives lost. Everyone with an understanding knows this. Anyone who does not need to cover their ass will say so. Everyone who needs to cover their ass will do so.
Bullshit. Why not answer my questions
How many more men do you send to an unsecured airport? How do you transport those men from the airport?
Are you bringing transportation with you? Now you need a Galaxy, a slow moving giant of a plane. Do the attackers have RPGs? Do we need to deploy a security team at the airport or does the plane do a touch and go.
Do the men head to the hospital, the consulate or the secret annex? How do they exit?
Logistics are a bitch but no Commander sends his troops into a situation half cocked. I know Hollywood would have had SEALs parachuting on to the roof of the annex while Chuck Norris leads a convoy of armored trucks someone conveniently left parked by the runway but that's not real life.
In real life, the odds are an additional four man security team means eight dead Americans.
Men on roofs with with automatic weapons vs. multiple mortars, rpgs, and crew mounted machine guns, the odds aren't very good.
