You'll notice the numbers come from Judicial Watch, a conservative group that was a thorn in the Obama Administrations side.

.....Judicial Watch estimated that Obama-related travel expenses totaled nearly $97 million over eight years.
But based on the first four weeks, Trump’s presidency appears on track to cost hundreds of millions of dollars more.

The burden is especially acute for the Secret Service, the presidential protection force that has endured years of budget short­ages, low morale and leadership shake-ups, including the announcement this week that its director, Joseph Clancy, is stepping down.
Agents are now tasked with guarding multiple homes and protecting Trump’s four adult children, including the globe-trotting sons running the family business and daughter Ivanka, whose family recently moved into a Northwest Washington neighborhood.
“There was an anticipation of how stressful it was going to be on the agency, but the harsh reality is that the stress is just overwhelming,” said Jonathan Wackrow, a 14-year Secret Service employee who served in Obama’s detail and now works as executive director of the risk-mitigation company RANE.
Even veteran agents, Wackrow said, are feeling the pressure of the “monumental” task, including manning high-security perimeters in Washington, Florida and New York, along with protecting family members’ private-business travel across three continents.....

Remember when trump said he would rarely leave the white House, that there was just too much work to do.

I believe this was DrMilled's biggest complaint in the previous administration. I suspect we'll hear him decry it now as much as Hoops does with Trump's golfing...or Boilerman does with Trump's executive orders...and LVFritz does with Trumps dishonesty.

I am not sure if it is that article, but one of them mentions Trump's Secret Service bill for a month is what Obama's was for a year. And yes the conservatives here and elsewhere constantly whined about how unfair it was they were forced to pay for Obama's lavish trips.

Some nut writes an article claiming the taxpayers could save a billion and a half dollars by eliminating the Office and trapping of the President and this kickoff thinks it's Obama's fault.
Yes, it's true that the total cost to the United States for having a President, a Presidential staff and a little thing called the Executive Branch is well over a billion dollars per year, but what part of that do you think Trump will cut?

Here are the numbers, and the Obama left with an increasing deficit. Furthermore. I have an interesting analogy to PJ's argument of decreasing deficits while Obama was in office.

Had Obama been a baseball player, he had a batting average of 20 in year one on deficits. As time moved on, he raised his batting average on deficits to 40. Obama sete a record for the worst batting average in history for 8 straight seasons. PJ calls this a victory?

See! Boilerman can produce a legitimate source when he tries really hard. Thanks for that. Obama was given a 1.4 trillion dollar deficit which he reduced by more than half - and Boilerman complains.

The best part is Boilerman and the righties had to be dragged kicking and screaming all the way on every bit of deficit reducing policy: the healthcare law, increase in taxes, ending two completely unpaid for wars, and ending Repuiblicans' unpaid for Medicare program

And it gets better. Boilerman cheers Trump as he begins the way forward in his border wall which will be going on the country's credit card . So yeah. Lets talk about deficits and the people who cause them. I like where Democrats stand in that fight.
