Trump families jet-setting costing us a fortune.

Milled points out an article claims to show that we spent 1.4 on Obama one year. Funny thing is in 2008, we spent 1.6 billion.
Who was President in 2008?
Figures don't lie. Too bad liars don't figure.
Yes..facts are facts. Just look at how much debt was accumulated by each President. These are the facts...This is what has to be paid back. Looking at deficits is like saying "I already spent my way into bankruptcy, but now I've cut my borrowing in half'.

Here are the real numbers. And they aren't fudged. They assign FY2009 to Bush...even though President Obama was President for most of that Fiscal Year.

President Obama added $7.917 trillion to the National Debt.
President Bush added $5.849 trillion to the National Debt...for which he was called 'Unpatriotic' by Candidate Obama.

The two most fiscally irresponsible presidents...right in a row. But Democrats will insist President Obama was a masterful deficit cutter while Republicans ignore Bush's drunken sailor spending. Of course Democrats and Republicans in Congress have some responsibility here too. The only way out of this mess is a constitutional amendment for a balanced budget....and that will be painful for a generation, but might save US in the long run.
Typical billryan- cannot stay on topic. First he condemns Trump, then when shown his Daddy Obeyme's numbers, billryan changes the focus to Bush. Typical liberal bullshit.
There is only one man in the World who had the ability to lower that 2009 budget and deficit. Does PJ care to know who this is? I'll give you a hint...................has name rhymes with "Obama".

It's bush league Liberal BS to blame the 2009 deficit on Bush, since Obama could have cut spending had he decided to do so. Once again, whiny Liberals pointing the finger of blame in the wrong place. How about some honesty and truth from the Left?

If the deficit rose to $1.4 trillion this year, let me guess who PJ and other Liberals will blame.

The best part is Boilerman and the righties had to be dragged kicking and screaming all the way on every bit of deficit reducing policy: the healthcare law, increase in taxes, ending two completely unpaid for wars, and ending Repuiblicans' unpaid for Medicare program

And it gets better. Boilerman cheers Trump as he begins the way forward in his border wall which will be going on the country's credit card . So yeah. Lets talk about deficits and the people who cause them. I like where Democrats stand in that fight.

That's not true. The Federal Government Fiscal Year starts October 1 so there were several months that President Obama wasn't even in office. But even if you give Bush FY2009, President Obama added more to the National Debt than any President before him. And President Bush did the same. 16 Years of Fiscal Irresponsibility is a Bi-Partisan fuck up.

We had a balanced budget in 2000. And we've had a huge slew of deficit causing policy since. I've already pointed to much of it on this thread. The only real legislation Obama signed that increased the deficit was his stimulus plan...or about 1 trillion. Please correct that statement by noting any other unpaid endeavors he undertook.

most right wingers complain about deficit while cheering the underlying policy that created them.

What policy did Obama sign that added more to the debt than any president before him?

If you wAnt to,argue Democrats should have done more to retract deficit causing policy that was already in place then you'll get no argument from me. But it's incorrect to say they added to the deficit. They did the opposite.
Oh geez, I already had to school billy once on his claim no president ever had or spent so much time at another residence (I really need to figure out how to successfully find old threads) and I'm sure those cost extra back then just like today. I'm certain it costs inordinately more now because of different factors with terrorism being no. one. But the fact remains the same, Presidents are allowewd to travel to their liking and it doesn't matter to me as long as they are working and getting something done. DT is a known workaholic and I'm certain he is still working some no matter where he is. If a couple rounds of golf with Japanese PM accomplishes nothing more than a closer relationship with Japan, I'm all for it.

I'm certain I would've felt the same way about FDR or Truman or the couple others who used their other residences often.

BTW I don't believe I ever bitched about Obamas vacations. The only super expensive trip I ever bitched about was his family's grand tour of Africa to denounce homophobia, dictatorships and such. An American president espousing American ideology on such cultures was embarrassing and dumb IMO. It seemed much more colonialistic than the diplomacy mission or whatever he wanted to call it than anything.
Incorrectly stating false facts is schooling? Perhaps in your neck of the woods. As I recall, when confronted with the schedules of the last several presidents, which showed Obama was in the White House more than them, the reaction was to blame the guy who compiles the data.

Everyone thinks a balanced budget is a great idea, yet they personally borrow money for their house, most borrow money for their cars, and an awful lot borrow money to go out to eat.
Not only do they have a mortgage and a car loan but they can't even pay off their credit cards each month.
Someone explain to me, Joe Taxpayer of 2017, why I should fully pay for a bridge that people will be using for the next sixty years. Why should I pay ,today, for an aircraft carrier that will defend the next two generations.
I don't believe in debt personally. I carry cash and pay cash for almost every purchase. I find it helps me spend less. I'm also not paying for a nation.
For me, any discussion of creating a more balanced budget starts with raising taxes.
Do away with the Bush era tax cuts and the nation is on its way. To me, we don't have a spending problem as much as we have an income problem.
I'm not looking to balance the budget, part of today's expenses belong to the taxpayers of tomorrow, just get it closer by raising income and some spending cuts.
I wonder what the budget deficit would be if all of the freeloading illegals were taken off of the government tit....
