Incorrectly stating false facts is schooling? Perhaps in your neck of the woods. As I recall, when confronted with the schedules of the last several presidents, which showed Obama was in the White House more than them, the reaction was to blame the guy who compiles the data.
Everyone thinks a balanced budget is a great idea, yet they personally borrow money for their house, most borrow money for their cars, and an awful lot borrow money to go out to eat.
Not only do they have a mortgage and a car loan but they can't even pay off their credit cards each month.
Someone explain to me, Joe Taxpayer of 2017, why I should fully pay for a bridge that people will be using for the next sixty years. Why should I pay ,today, for an aircraft carrier that will defend the next two generations.
I don't believe in debt personally. I carry cash and pay cash for almost every purchase. I find it helps me spend less. I'm also not paying for a nation.
For me, any discussion of creating a more balanced budget starts with raising taxes.
Do away with the Bush era tax cuts and the nation is on its way. To me, we don't have a spending problem as much as we have an income problem.
I'm not looking to balance the budget, part of today's expenses belong to the taxpayers of tomorrow, just get it closer by raising income and some spending cuts.
