Trump hires his own Leni Riefenstahl to run his campaign.

In a bizarre move Trump has hired the head of Breitbart News, Steve Bannon, to run his campaign. This coming on the heels of news he has hired Rodger Ailes to do his debate prep.

Quote

In Bannon, Trump has brought in the head of the most unapologetically pro-Trump conservative media outlet in the country. Basically every time Trump has run into controversy, Breitbart has found a way to defend it. The conservative outlet has morphed into more of a virulently anti-establishment, pro-Trump news outlet than anything else. Critics have taken to calling it "Trumpbart" and the "Trump propaganda arm" (despite the fact that its late founder, Andrew Breitbart, was no Trump fan).

Before his death, Andrew Breitbart called Bannon “the Leni Riefenstahl of the Tea Party movement."

Would that it were so, . . .

. . . Olympia, the film Riefenstahl made about the 1936 Olympics, is widely lauded as a technical marvel.

The director mounted her cameras in innovative positions, using balloons and rafts as well as trenches to capture the very best shots. Her camera moves were highly inventive, her editing added drama and tension not normally associated with documentaries of the time, and Riefenstahl’s use of sound and music was groundbreaking.

Time magazine included Olympia in a list of the 100 greatest films of all time, praising its “narrative ingenuity” and claiming that its innovations directly influenced all future televised sports coverage.

Critic and biographer David Thomson, meanwhile, has described Riefenstahl as “arguably the most talented woman ever to make a film”.

In truth, Riefenstahl was never prosecuted as [a NAZI]. Once the Nazi regime fell, both the French and the Americans detained her, though she was released in 1948. She lived until she was 101 and proved fiercely litigious, winning more than 50 libel suits against those who claimed that she was aware of Nazi policy. “My life became a tissue of rumours and accusations,” she wrote in her memoirs. “They were all revealed to be false.”

It was also true that she had many confrontations with Goebbels, and the propaganda chief bemoaned her “wild” demeanour and found their dealings exasperating.

Here is one of his earlier efforts:

As one prson noted, Plan 9 From Outer Space is no longer the worst movie ever.
Can it get any more bizarre? Perhaps bring Drudge in?

Do you count yourself as a member of the Alt-right?
Me on 7/30/2016: "if Leni Riefenstahl was still around, Trump would have hired her to film his speech."

Damn I'm good.
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but did Brightbart start his website as a protest against the media getting in bed with politicians. I wonder how he'd feel about the man who inherited his position now bedding down with a Presidential candidate.
Imagine the whining we'd have here if the head of MSNBC ran the Clinton campaign.
"Fat Andy" Breitbart was a political hack and hypocrite.
His Coke (as in Cocaine) and Big Mac addictions finally caught up to the guy.
I have no respect for him, it's just a shame his followers are shitting on his grave.
The king of the Birthers hires the dude behind the doctored Sherry Sherrod video.

I think its great Republicans have a campaign that represents their view of the world that's not muddled by the "liberal media". Good luck in November.
