Trump is moving into the White House by himself.

Oh my. So Trump tower isn't currently set up as a presidential retreat? Is that your argument? How many presidential retreats were set up as such prior to the man becoming president? Trump would just put a helipad on the roof and be done with it. 2.5 hours round trip.

Smart people can handle this issue, so don't concern yourself.

It's a common occurrence for Presidents to go home every weekend? Really? Can you name one who did? Congress members represent a particular group of people so it makes sense that they go back to them. Many Members try to go go home each weekend, when there isn't a scheduled session. I don't think any President has gone home for the weekend on a regular basis.

More made up BS. Shocking! You're not nearly as smart as you think you are. Yea, I can name more than one.

"..During his two terms as president, George W. Bush, spent a whopping 500 days at his ranch, which he stills owns, near the town of Crawford in central Texas. It wasn’t all play, however, as Prairie Chapel Ranch played host to the likes of Russian President Vladimir Putin and former British prime minister Tony Blair, among other world leaders, when Mr. Bush was in office.."

"..The late Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy, used their ranch, Rancho del Cielo, in Santa Barbara, California, which they bought back in the 1970s, as their retreat from the White House during his two terms. Dubbed the “Western White House,” the ranch, set on 688 acres, was used to host Mikhail Gorbachev and Queen Elizabeth II when Mr. Reagan was in office during the 1980s.."

"..A modest ranch near Middleburg, Virginia, which John F. Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline, built in the early 1960s is decidedly less known than the glitzy Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. Ms. Kennedy designed it herself as a weekend retreat away from the White House, but sadly the family only spent three weekends there before JFK was assassinated in 1963; the property was sold a few months later.."

Bush spent an average of 63 days a year on his ranch. Trump wants to spend 160 nights a year in NYC. Great comparison.
Reagan spent less than 50 nights a year at his retreat. Presidents need and deserve retreats and vacations. Spending 160 nights in NY is insane. If Hillary did it, you'd be outraged.
Camp David is designed for Presidential retreats. Trump Tower isn't.
Then we have the matter of disrupting airspace and road traffic on Friday night's and Monday mornings in the busiest city in the country, and shutting down the intersection of the most expensive retail space in NY.

Only a moron would propose putting a helipad on this.
Billy forgets that I come from a family of engineers, and that most of my Purdue boys are also engineers. It would be no problem to build a helipad on top of that building. Hell, my buddy Pete was a key member building the first subsea natural gas compressor system, to squeeze an additional 310 million equivalent barrels of oil out of an aging field. The 190,000 square foot complex sits on the sea floor at a depth of 3000 feet. This massive project has run perfectly (at 100% of nameplate capacity) for the first full year of production, and they will now implement similar engineering technology for 5 more aging wells. Yep, Pete could build the helipad, although I'm sure they would hire someone who specializes in skyscrapersinstead of subsea installation.

Billy, leave it to the smart people. Plan to exclude all Hollywood types, singers, dancers and Liberals.

More speculation from MAL who knows no more than me or anyone else what exactly their plans. The only thing for sure is she's staying 'til the end of the school year. The donald said she and Barron would be joining them 'soon', after the school year. It was also reported he's asked how much time does he have to spend at the WH. Looks like he'll be in the WH during the week then go home on the weekends, or NJ, or Fla where he'll be with his family, just as many congressman do.I remember Pelosi flew home to SF every weekend on a govt. jet. It's a common occurance, SHEESH.

So, Trump is going to be the most vacationed President ever just counting all those weekends off? Do terrorists take every weekend off too?

I suggest you go through this forum and reexamine all posts here were conservative posters screamed like 12-year-old school girls whenever Obama took a day off to play golf.

It is also bizarre to simply write this off as Baron wanting to stay behind to finish school. Is the kid such a special snowflake that he doesn’t have to move when daddy gets a new job?

Officials are saying it costs more than one million dollars a day to provide protection to the Trump Tower since the election, and those costs won’t go down if Melania and Barron stay behind. I can recall the numerous whiney bitchy threads here about how much it costs the taxpayers when Obama went on a two-week vacation to Hawaii (his home state). Suddenly these same a-holes are down with Trump spending over a billion taxpayer dollars in a four-year period so Trump can have two White Houses. Boiler also apparently wants the taxpayers to spend millions of dollars retrofitting the Trump Tower with helicopter pads. If Trump didn’t want to live in Washington or want his family to live in Washington, he shouldn’t have run for the position as relocation is mandatory.

Nothing concrete has happened but Mal blubber has already worked himself into a tizzy. What a tool..
this shouldn't even be news. but when she does get to the White House, lets hope that she can restore some class to it.
Once again, boils makes utter bullshit claims. His family of engineers would laff at him. I mean laff with him.
Forgetting the fact that the Presidential travel party is normally three airliners, I will ask again- where would you build a Belinda on the roof of Trump Tower.
Trump is a work-a-holic, he will out work Clinton and Obama combine, its the reason for both of his divorces.
What makes you think that Melania and Baron won't be visiting The Donald in the White House on weekends until they move instead of the other way around? Then he can do even more of The People's work without wasting time on his responsibilities as Husband and Father. The man's middle name is 'Sacrifice'. I'd wager right now he plays fewer rounds of golf than Bush or Obama.
Boiler never complained about any Clinton or Obama vacationing, other than them talking about carbon footprint, immediately before jumping on Air Force One prior to flying to Hawaii. If Trump decides to work at Trump tower, and he's equipped to do so, it's still work.

It's hard to work on the golf course however.
