Daisy, this is the most rational, well written, well composed post from you ever. I have understood your position and pretty much agree, but you said it best here.
Every generation has had false prophets to mislead people into doing what they want to do when they want to do it. Hollywood and famous politicians have been the role models of late, which has lead to the degradation of society in many ways. People would rather listen to false prophets and do their own thing.
Christianity has one thing that other religions (not to mention non- belief) do not, which is a God who sent his son to become human on earth, to preach God's word, and then to willingly die on a cross as the sacrifice for the sins of all of us. We are all sinners at some point, at many points, but Jesus sacrificed himself for our sins so that we can have life after death in Heaven. Thankfully, God will never be up for re-election, will always be in 'office', ready to accept us and love us and forgive us, if only we ask Him to and move forward in continuing to love him above all idols and love our neighbor, as taught in the Holy Bible.
