The truth

While the state of my own household is wonderful. I am very blessed and fortunate and made smart, responsible choices. No, my household for the first time ever has taken a paycut and we lost our job after 15 years and our industry has taken a huge hit throughout. We have always been very fortunate to have the best health care and we have no healthcare until we meet a super high deductible. For the first time in my 40 years of life I pay for a preventative cleaning at the dentist. It is not included in my plan. For the first time in my life (my michele Obama inspired "I am proud of my country"). For the first time in my life, I am ashamed and embarrassed by my country. For the first time as a Christian, I have always been naive and raised sheltered, but more than ever I realize being persecuted as a Christian. I have experienced hatred and mockery as a white person, as a patriot and as a Christian. I fear a civil war on our hands. Race relations are set back 50 years. We do not have freedom of speech because we are accused of racism, sexism and prejudice against homosexuality. Of which, people want to say God made them that way. You're right. He did. He also made people one arm and Down's syndrome. It is sad and empathetic when a person is born with a disability. My prayers and love to their family. But we do not cut off everyone's arm to make life "fair". We all have our burdens to bear in whatever way God presented them to us.

So I hope I adequately answered your question. No, I am not better off. And on the "issues". I will not be voting for Hillary Clinton. I agree she has had 30 years in office to produce effective change. She has not. I also on her lawmaking disagree with every single item. I do agree with trump on almost every "issue" and that he will be able to use his business background in office.

God, please bless America. This is the worst situation we've been in in my lifetime. I did not even mention our budding Third World War. When speaking to my many foreign friends. It brought a whole new perspective that their parents survived bombings on their developed city streets and what a profound impact that would have left and how naive and sheltered we were from that. As Americans with the exception of our own civil war over 150 years ago. No war has ever been on our front lawn. I am okay with that. I quite like my spoiled life of naivety and privilege. We are blessed and right now we are stupid and knocking on the wrong door.
And I guess thanks to the people who are constantly politically obsessed. I have been using this forum to vent my frustrations because I would really not like to alienate friends, but yet this nonsense is boiling over and really making our days so negative. It is quite sad how much of America doesn't want a beautiful, friendly, loving world to walk through daily. Allowing this kind of negativity to fester Into our mainstream cognitive is a very unhealthy and destructive way to build a community. They literally did bring in the clowns and they were angry and disturbed. Honestly. Look around people. Go shake someone's hand and smile.
Not to make this a political comment, but I would hope that there's no simple answer to the question "am I better off today than I was 8 years ago". I'd like to think that I'm improving my life by my own actions regardless of who is in government. I've made some good decisions, taken on some more work, fixed some problems. All things that were under my control. The stock market is up, and so is the cost of my health insurance (significantly). I just worry about the things I CAN control and do the best I can. I'm not going to blame, or give credit for, the POTUS for my quality of life

How about "Are you better off than you were eight years ago?"

Talk about pussies.
Really interesting that you are for a candidate that espouses all the bullshit you say you are against happening to you but you are okay if it happens to someone else? Fuck you and any piece of shit with your beliefs. You should be persecuted as a Christian if you don't do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Daisybasket. Recognize our most of our board liberals for who they are. They put their politics above human life and won't hesitate to trash any woman who acts contrary to what they want to believe in. It shows their total lack of character.
