Prior to signing up for KTN, my wife and I would randomly receive a pre-check. The problem was that almost all of the time only one of us would get it, which didn't accomplish anything.

Hmm, . . . DonDiego would've thought a "single" man might have quite the weekend in Las Vegas, if his spouse were detained.

Mrs Hoops2 won the TSA recheck more than me.

I flew Presidents week which is a busy travel week and the lines were normal. we also flew during Easter week What happened in the last 2 months to create such havoc?

Just think what the lines would look like if we implemented your 10% across-the-board public employee layoff plan. Hope you are enjoying your tax cuts.

They need a separate line for people willing to fly naked. That will really speed things up.

Maybe we should just outsource those jobs to undocumented workers. The capacity problem is solved and the Government saves money. Everybody wins.

Same here, except if husband, who usually carried on his laptop, got it, fine.

If I got it and he didn't, he'd hand me the laptop to take through (before we got to the checkpoint, of course) and I wouldn't have to unload it from the case.

Funny, the last time we flew, for the first time ever my husband didn't have any contraband on him (belt buckle, keys, etc., he always forgot about something) but the screener did a pat down on him like never before. I thought the screener was going to unzip his pants and stick his hand down there, he spent so much time patting around his jeans front. Then he patted both legs from ankle to crotch! I was watching...laughing, wondering what the heck hubby had forgotten this time to cause such a pat down, but he didn't have anything. I figured it must be a new screener taking his job VERY seriously!

Never said that. I called for a 1% cut in all govt spending. Out of a $3.6t budget the govt can't find $36b to cut?
It doesn't have to be staff cuts. It could be useless grants, purchases of needless equipment, rental of unused office space, - anything.

I have been in finance for years and we could always find a way to cut money if needed.
