Turing back the clock: The Stardust

I stayed in the back motel like rooms ONCE & ONLY ONCE. Yuk that was enough for me.

Didn't have any luck gambling there either.

Wish I was there to experience the Stardust Only place I see it standing now is when I watch re-runs of the show Las Vegas on TNT.
I met Faye at the Stardust early in the A.M. on February 7th 1994. Sometimes I wonder if I ever should have played that one last roll of quarters before going to bed.
I never stayed at the Stardust, But I always hung out there when I stayed at the Riviera. I loved the place.
I had my biggest gambling win there. Sure do miss it.

I wonder if the people behind Echelon wish they had left it standing.

I've heard the Stardust was "generating a positive cashflow" right up to the end.

If that's true, or if it means they were generating a profit, then I'm SURE Boyd wish it was still there.

Truthfully, the whole place needed a make over - hard to believe the hotel tower was only 15 years old.

The rooms were pretty beaten up, by the end.

Still, I think that of all the casinos "imploded", the Stardust may be the most missed!!
The north strip hasn't been the same since they tore down Stardust and New Frontier. Stardust's sportsbook was one of the best in town right up to the day of implosion.

My fondest memory was playing the 25 cent Wheel of Fortune state progressive there. I didn't hit the progressive but I got to spin the wheel and the 1000 coin thingy came up. That was the biggest jackpot I had ever got to that point.
My wife & I enjoyed Dave Cody & his group in The Starlite Lounge.
One of the last havens of "Old Vegas" on the Strip. Our 1st few trips there (before we realized there was life beyond the Strip), we would wander down to New Frontier, Stardust, and the last one that I'm drawing a complete blank on (the one w/ the 99 cent frozen drinks). Always one of my favorite days in Vegas.

The gambling was never great at any of those places, but it was nice just to walk around and appreciate the history of those places.

How could you read the book and not realize it is about the Stardust? The book uses actual names
