I see the old motel like rooms in the back. I only stayed in those rooms once. I usually stayed in the newer tower. I liked the Stardust too. I didn't realize that the book Casino and the movie Casino were based upon the Stardust and Rosenthal and not the fictional Tangiers Hotel.

How could you read the book and not realize it is about the Stardust? The book uses actual names

Did he say he read the book?

My oh my. Someone is testy today. Let me rephrase what I meant to say. I didn't realize that the movie Casino was about the Stardust Hotel until I read the book. There. Is that okay now?
I was there when the Aku Aku opened. We had a beautiful dinner...everyone dressed to the nines. I was 13 at the time. I still have the glass I got my soda in--it was black and shaped like the two tiki gods that adorned the front entry to the restaurant. Very cool memento from the past. k
