Turn your ipad, ipod, iphone, or android device into a free phone

There are several apps availabe (ie., talk a tone, skype, or free talk Magic Jack), some free, which allows you to turn your device into a free phone. Anyone use these? Dislaimer: I subscribe to Magic Jack and downloaded the free app to my iphone and it provides free calling where I don't need to use my allocated minutes off my cell phone service.

Edited to add: all you'd need is an earbud with microphone and speakers and you'll have a free phone. And of course you'll need wi-fi or cell service for it to work to make calls anywhere in the world.
