Thanks for the memories.

In my youth I did stay at the Thunderbird and its second version but did not stay there when it became the El Rancho. I do remember the comeing soon sign sitting out in front of the property for years touting the next reincarnation but as we all know that never happened and now another failed(?) attempt to put something there

I stayed there many times in the 1970's.

I stayed there when it was the Silverbird back in the late 70's. The whole front had a mirror finish so you could actually watch yourself drive up to the valet. Don't remember too much else about the place.

Remember an old timer saying....

"Thunderbird. The only thing you can drink, drive and stay in."
