The Twelve Days of Slothmas

Day 12 - Sunday - Last Day and Trip Epilogue

As I sit at the airport awaiting the flight back home I think over the trip. People often wonder how anyone can go to Vegas for so long. For me it's not such much a Vegas trip as it is an R&R trip that happens to be in Vegas. I considered getting a cabin or yert off in the mountains somewhere, but Vegas is a great 24 hour town and much more economical than a mountain cabin.

One of my best accomplishments for the trip was working through each of the seven sins. I set out to accomplish a series of sin in sin city and I did them all. For that I am very proud. Pride. Check.

Bit I digress.

Back to the last night of the trip. After my beer hunting adventures, I head back to MSS to start packing. I'll be leaving for the airport as soon as I get up and moving so most of my packing has to be done tonight. But first, it is also my last night to try my luck in the casino. I had been wanting to play a three-play machine, but the ones I went to play at The Cal had been downgraded. Vpfree cam to the rescue and turned up a bank of machines at MSS that were both full play and slant tops. So I set off to play these machines.

I find the bank, and choose a machine and sit down to play. As I start to insert my card I realize that I need to break a hundred into twenties. I head to the close change machine, but it is out of order and I have to cross the casino to find another one. By the time I returned someone else had grabbed the machine I wanted, so I choose another one at the other end of the bank. Instead of playing twenties, I decide to play forties since this is a triple play machine. I insert the first forty and begin to play.

I notice that the credits are ringing up in odd amounts. I realize that I had selected to play five credits rather that max (15) credits so the different hands were being played for a portion of the total credits. I press the max credit button and get a dealt flush. Hold all and get paid for three flushes. And now I'm off to the races. Flushes, trips, and full houses abound. I'm getting a scratch card for my third quad when I realize that I've forgotten I've been tracking quad denominations. And then up comes an Ah, Qh, Kh. I hold these three cards and press deal. And then it happens. On the third hand. Something I've only seen twice in my life, and the first time was a decade ago on a single credit penny machine. Picture forthcoming on Rick's thread. I can't tell you what song I was rocking out to on the headphones. Everything just got kind of quiet for awhile. The credits just kept going and going. What a way to end the trip on the last night. I'm back in the black. Thank you, good night everybody. KP has left the casino.

Fantastic Trip Report !!!!!

I wonder what happened to that $100 TITO ???
Did the casino get in touch with the card owner, or did the slip end up in the tip jar ???

Thanks for taking the time to write and share.

It did disappear when the bartenders went through shift change. I did notice that the bartender that I gave it to left for a few minutes during that time. I thought he left with the rest, but he said he's on a staggered shift. Maybe he took it to a players desk or cage? I doubt the bartenders would have taken it. If the player turned in a complaint about the missing payout, and then reviewed the tape, and saw a bartender take it, that would be considered theft. And who wants to jeopardize a job where you get tips for giving away free booze?

One of "my" local casino's has a "Lost & Found" policy. If an employee "finds" something of value, including cash, chips, coputer, whatever and etc, they turn it into security. IF it is not claimed in 90 days, ownership reverts to the finder.

Perhaps they have a similar policy there. :: shrug ::

I wouldn't consider a lost wallet that includes an ID with name and phone number to be considered something to be returned to the finder is the owner does not claim it in 90 days. I would feel the same about credits left on a machine that contains a player's card. In any case the credits were not mine and I did what I should to get them headed back into the direction of the rightful owner. I would hope the casino would use that information to get it back to their customer. That $100 will buy a lot of goodwill towards having a loyal customer who will tell all their friends about what a great casino it is (although maybe not the details of leaving $100 in a machine after too many drinks at the bar).

........ and in this case the finder would be the bartender, but should be KayPea
