Twin suicide bombing kills 70 in Baghdad's deadliest attack this year

WOW! How much explosive does somebody have to strap on to wipe out FIFTY(more or less) people? That's insane. I've handled dynamite with fertilizer (anfo) working in the strip mines and to put off a balst that big takes a pretty large amount of material. They must've had at least 30-40 lbs of anfo along with a few sticks of dynamite.

Crap like this just reinforces the idea of letting any of these potential Syrian/Iraqi people in the US. And no, I'm not scared, I'm not xenophobic, I'm not racist, I'm a realist. Inviting any potential enemy to sllepp and eat in your own home would be an extremely unwise move..well, downright stupid actually.

I just saw on the scrolling news at the bottom of the MSNBC screen, yesterday I think, that IS captured a few hundred blank passports along with the equipment to fill 'em out. If we(the US) can't figure out who any particular person is unquestionably then no dice.

"BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A twin suicide bombing claimed by Islamic State killed 70 people in a Shi'ite district of Baghdad on Sunday in the deadliest attack inside the capital this year, as militants launched an assault on its western outskirts.

Police sources said the suicide bombers were riding motorcycles and blew themselves up in a crowded mobile phone market in Sadr City, wounding more than 100 people in addition to the dead.

A Reuters witness saw pools of blood on the ground with slippers, shoes and mobile phones at the site of the blasts, which was sealed off to prevent further attacks.

In a statement circulated online, Islamic State said it was responsible for the blasts: "Our swords will not cease to cut off the heads of the rejectionist polytheists, wherever they are," it said, using derogatory terms for Shi'ite Muslims..."

Saddam might not have lasted beyond the 1980's without Reagan's support in his war with Iran. Now that's support! And Bush's war begat al Qaeda in Irag which begat ISIS. You built that.

It's rare that I agree with Forkie, yet Forkie and I are likely coming at this from different angles. I've concluded that large Muslim populations are best run by strong and sometimes brutal, iron fisted dictators. Anything close to democracy leads to radical Islamic takeover and an expansion of terrorism.

These strong dictators are willing to crush the radicals without needing anyone's permission nor approval. It's, unfortunately, the only way to control the animals.
