Chef, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours every step of the way.

You are truly one fine human being, even if you are a conservative, lol!

(Suggested response: Well, thank you very much, Paddler. That means a lot to me, even if it does come from a raging liberal!).

Thank you for the prayers.

I'm just human being trying to do what I can.

My suggested response: Thanks Indy, it means a lot. Your not raging, just a liberal.

Mom's eating solid food and should be moved to a room either today or tomorrow. She's slowly gaining strength, so it's going to be a few days before she goes home. Her room is going to be on the same floor as BIL, so we'll see if they are in shouting distance. (for mom that's about 2 floors, on a good day)

BIL on the other hand, has a few problems. It seems that one of the replacement arteries is blocked/restricted for some reason. Also they gave BIL another pint of blood (that's 3 in total so far) to keep his blood pressure in the normal range. He is getting around more, so that's better news.

Here is something that we can all agree on, whatever side of the political spectrum you are on: if you have your health, you have it all, and if you don't, you have nothing.

Agreed Indy!

According to my sister, mom's due to leave the hospital sometime tomorrow. She's a tad weak, but the time in ICU really did the trick. My aunt and I have a schedule workied out to stay with mom for a few days until she is ready to go solo.

The bigger issue is the BIL, he has fluid build up in his lungs and it looks like they are going to operate to see what's causing the blockage in one of his donated arteries (it came from his chest cavity). They are waiting until his kidneys are fully functioning before they operate. They did move BIL into another room.

My mom's out of the hospital!!

I took her home yesterday and she's weak but doing pretty good. One of her sisters is with her for a few days to make sure she is doing ok and to do some cleaning (to get the smoke out of the house). All mom needs now is a scooter and she is an official blue hair.

My BIL is supposed to go to surgery either today or Monday to remove the blockage in his bypass artery. (seems he had a heart attack and spit out a clot into the bypass that has to be taken care of) Other than that, he's doing fine. BIL was up and walking around and visited mom when she was on the same floor. They were next door neighbors, those nurses must have had an interesting time with those 2.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words. It really ment alot to us.
Wonderful news Chef...

Prayers continuing for you and your family.
Thank you very much Sheltie.
