U.K. Leaving EU Any U.S. Impact Expected?

Some folks are saying worldwide recession. I am not sure I buy that.
As poor old DonDiego types, the DOW futures are minus-478 [-2.67%] and the NASDAQ futures are minus-152 [-3.42%] .

On the other hand, the Gold Futures are up $ 56.90 [+4.5%] .

It looks like a pretty good day for poor old DonDiego.

The Obama urged the Brits to stay in the European Union; Donald Trump suggested they get out.

The British Pound fell 10% last night; it has recovered to down only 6.75% now. Vacationing in Great Britain should get cheaper.

***EDITED TO ADD***
" 'A U.K. vote to exit the European Union could have significant economic repercussions,' Fed Chair Janet L. Yellen said Tuesday.
At the same time, Brexit has spawned the recent bout of volatility in global financial markets. That has anxious investors scurrying for safety -- and few assets are safer than U.S. Treasuries. High demand for government debt pulls down interest rates.
That all translates into ultra-low mortgage rates for American households. And with Britain voting for Brexit, they could go even lower."

EU referendum: Brexit sparks calls for other EU votes

France's National Front leader Marine Le Pen said the French must now also have the right to choose.

Dutch anti-immigration politician Geert Wilders said the Netherlands deserved a "Nexit" vote.

Mateo Salvini, the leader of Italy's anti-immigration Northern League, tweeted: "Hurrah for the courage of free citizens! Heart, brain and pride defeated lies, threats and blackmail.
"THANK YOU UK, now it's our turn."

The anti-immigration Sweden Democrats wrote on Twitter that "now we wait for swexit!"

Kristian Thulesen Dahl, leader of the populist Danish People's Party, said a referendum would be "a good democratic custom".

n.b. Nothing in the above post is intended to suggest DonDiego either supports or opposes a European Union, . . . or any referenda by citizens of member-nations on continued participation therein. He has no position on the matter; it's not really any of his business.
Poor old DonDiego is just providing information for those interested.

EU? We don't need no stinkin' EU.
Predictions of economic fallout are based on the idea EU countries might sever trade and partnerships with the UK. That seems unlikely to me - but uncertainty has a way of throwing a wrench into the markets. My understanding is the full exit process takes about 2 years so its going to be a while before the impact can be measured.

I think it will end up being a whole lot of nothing - at least from the US perspective.
A few pretty decent buys this mornnig, too bad I wasn't around for the open.
What other proof do the "Open Boarder Liberals" need regarding the ramifications of uncontrolled immigration? Those who've lived with unfettered immigration, and especially unfettered Muslim immigration, have had enough......................to the extent that Britain is willing to take a "lesser of two evils" tact. Britain can't stay in the EU and simultaneously control their boarders.

Somehow these stories will not be a learning experience for many on this site.

And the Scottish want back into EU by 2-1. I'm sure they'll work it out. With the Pound being pounded, now would be a great time for a UK vacation.
