Uber to downtown (MSS)

I've never used Uber in my life. Is it a better choice to get downtown than a cab?

Haven't used Uber in Vegas yet, but have had great results elsewhere. Clean cars, no bullshit, no long hauling. I'm definitely going to ride with them on my July trip. Yeah it's just two of us and carry-on baggage. I'm only there 2.5 days so one pair of underwear, one pair of socks, etc....

I was in Vegas in late May for a downtown seminar. I had a friend who had to leave early for the airport. He used UBER. It turns out his driver also worked as a legal working girl at one of the cat houses in Pahrump.

Lyft/Uber has jumped on the band wagon of adding a similar "resort fee" add on, it's called a trust & safety fee which adds an additional $2 to the fare. They are still cheaper than a taxi but these extra fees tend to creep in any way they can. On another note I find that the drivers for Lyft/Uber are much more talkative than taxi drivers. Doesn't matter to me as long as they pay attention to driving. And with Lyft they sent me some nice offers upon sign up. Uber didn't. Not sure about now though.

I used them in April, about $20 from the airport to downtown. It was better than a cab.

Lyft was offering Five Ten Dollar coupons for new riders in May.
