Uh Oh. The Affordable Care Act costs more than projected.

I think people are overwhelming the site looking for answers because nobody knows whats what in obamamcare. The social worker in my clinic has gotten five different answers from five diff people. I inquired at the clinic while I was In fla last week, tey have not much more of a clue as the folks in the north. I suspect all those stampeding in at start up has been A)Those who were uninsurable and B) People looking for answers to specific questions. I doubt the young healthy crowd that they need for this thing to fly spent there weekend trying to get in. All IMHO of course

Oh and I agree with Mal, they should of just let the thing fly and either watch it struggle or fall flat on its face.

Oh, did some infant claim that ACA is the most perfect thing in every way possible? Or that they are sooo disappointed that it isn't?

No, the ACA was a product of negotiation, and sadly Obama had to please some really bad Democrats like Max Baucus and some really despicable human beings like Joe Lieberman. And yes, blue states that are actually trying to help their citizens are doing better at this than red states that aren't. Go figure.

And DonDiego, if it's all the same to you, we'd like you to drop the "ACA" thing and just call it ObamaCare.

What on earth is healthcare.gov???

Oh, that's where people have to go IF their state didn't set up a local insurance exchange! People living in civilized (non-Republican) states didn't have to deal with that problem so much.

i. That which forkushV objects to is a provision of the ACA.

ii. Some folks in non-Republican states are experiencing difficulty as well.

True...and some red states (Arkansas) like the exchanges so much they are moving their Medicaid Recipients over to them...

That was a month ago. Now, according to NBC's latest poll:

"...As the party has used the shutdown and fiscal fight to campaign against the nation’s health-care law and for limited government, the poll shows those efforts have backfired.

For one thing, the health-care law has become more popular since the shutdown began. Thirty-eight percent see the Affordable Care Act (or “Obamacare”) as a good idea, versus 43 percent who see it as a bad idea – up from 31 percent good idea, 44 percent bad idea last month."

So please, call it ObamaCare.
Good to see DD is up and posting. Great reading with my morning coffee.
The site doesn't work. Period! Too much money was spent building the site. Period. They had, what, two- three years to get the site up and running? Epic failure! Something this important, this vital to the presidents image, to be put out there and to be allowed to fail so badly just can't be excused. To say we didn't expect so many people to log on so quickly is just stupid. That's exactly what the ACA was supposed to do. Help a shitload of people. That excuse just doesn't float, its a copout at best.

The truth of the matter is that the website is a failure now and the ACA is going to be a failure in the long run when people find out just how poorly these "cheap cost" policies are going to service them.
