Looks like it. Unfortunately, the free argument doesn't hold much water any more. Lots of sites are free and have high traffic yet are maintained reasonably well. Some have some ads on their site to bring-in revenue, some have no or few ads at all.
Sadly, I can see how some of the very opinionated (paid) members seem to want to run the show and shoot down comments accordingly. It's a real pity that this type of behaviour is condoned.
