The Unaffordable Care Act

Conservatives have a lot of good laughs in store this next year watching the Obamacare train wreck.

Trader Joe's is cutting their part time employees out of their generous health benefits package. This comes after UPS said recently they would no longer cover spouses with their health care plan.

The AFL-CIO and other unions are crying over the Obamacare law that they fought so hard for.

Rates have already been posted for a number of states, so maybe it's time to stop listening to rumors. If you need individual insurance or know someone who does, quotes may already be available at:

I'm extremely pleased with my price and coverage. YMMV.
People will adjust. Taxes will have to increase to cover the cost OR
Someone will come out with the BEST solution. A national sales tax to cover all healthcare (medicare and medicaid), social security shortfalls and military costs.

I would say 5% should cover it all
not too bad.
make 45000 per year, family of 4 and it costs 2650 per year...with another 6500 in "tax subsidies".

Will one of the liberal know-it-alls , who post here and know everything, enlighten me and explain where the money will come from to cover the "tax subsides"?
More than half of the dealines have been missed.

The resolution was approved at the AFL-CIO's quadrennial convention in Los Angeles. It claims the new law will increase costs for health plans that are jointly administered by unions and smaller employers in the construction, retail and transportation industries. That could encourage employers to hire fewer union workers or abandon the health plans altogether and force union members to seek lower quality coverage on the new health exchanges.

It's only a half truth that UPS will no longer cover spouses. Spouses without other health care will be covered. Spouses that can get health care from their own employer will not be covered.

My wife is on my insurance. She used to be on her employer's insurance. She had a medical bill and neither insurance would accept responsibility and wanted the other one to pay. Both insurance companies had no problems accepting full premium payments.

My company and my wife's both offer incentives to drop their insurance and go on the spouses insurance plan. My company gives $100 per month and my wife's company gives $200 per month. So, my wife dropped her insurance at her work, went on my policy and we pocket $200 a month.

Dropping the spouse so that the spouse doesn't have two policies is a good move.
I cant think of a more objective source on the AFA than someone with an avatar of Obama wearing a nazi helmet.

I have to be a little modest here. Actually, it's almost everything.

The CBO says it's already handled by current taxes, and if Obamacare was cancelled right now, it would actually increase the deficit. And speaking of the deficit, the CBO 2013 projection is over 40% lower than the 2009 projection, which was made 18 days before Obama became president of Kenya. I mean America. (And if you don't know the difference between the deficit and the national debt, go ask someone.)

The US spends way more per capita and has worse insurance than just about any industrialized country, so there's lots of wasted dollars. The reduction in "all-you-can-eat" gold plated health care insurance, and the payment per value rather than by procedure are meant to improve that situation, and I'm sure it will.

But back to affordability; in about 18 days we'll know for sure.
If obamacare is such a great deal why did congress seek an exemption?
