Unemployment inaccurate?

Only stupid people believe that only 5.5% of our population wants a job yet doesn't have job. Chime in.

I sure wish President Obama would get going on ruining our economy with his disasterous policies like we all know he wants to, so that he can usher in his communist Islamic dictatorship. I mean, come on already, you're running out of time!

Chilly glosses over the fact that the unemployment rate dropped because almost twice as many people dropped out of the workforce than got jobs. The U6 rate went up and the workforce participation rate dropped to it's lowest rate since the 70's. The workforce rate for those over 50 did go up.

By "glosses over" hoops2 apparently means "underlined in red at the bottom of the news story screen grab he posted."

Chilly picks a news article that at the top of the article specifically mentions the number of jobs created but at the bottom fails to mention the number of people (over 400k) left the work force, leaving us with a workforce participation rate at 36 year lows

If true unemployment were as rosy as the 5 point whatever %, I doubt there'd still be a zillion people on food stamps and other govt assistance.

Due to record low numbers of people participating in the workforce. If the workforce participation rate was the same as when obama took office unemployment would be in the 10% area
