Unlucky: Man robbed of $10,000 won at casino

He had $10,000 won at a casino for a half hour before he was robbed.
I'm robbed piecemeal.
Pj made the point pretty clearly as it seems like these thugs followed the man home. If the casino would have had better security then maybe they could have prevented the robbery.

My Mom once won 5 grand at the Horseshoe in Shreveport and they asked us if we wanted a escort to the car. When we told them that we were staying in the hotel they had security walk us to the room and told us whenever we needed a escort to call them.

When we got up in the morning we had security walk us to the car and we got the hell out of there!

The casino can't escort you to your house.

If you were in charge of casino security, what would you have done to prevent this robbery?

Having security patrolling the parking garages would be a start.
Sad~~~these are desperate time indeed.

I've ask security to escort me to my car in A.C. after a big win- they do it gladly..Security likes to feel useful but a check or direct deposit (routing) is a better idea. I carry a deposit check in my luggage but the casino could use your atm card also to rout the money directly into your bank account-- ask for a copy of the check first. it takes about 45 minutes ; its better than getting jacked-
helps you come down from the win- also saves you money as you are not around machines or tables during this- you are in the boring business part of the casino

the balance in cash. That's how I would handle any large win.

A couple of years ago I hit a small hand pay jackpot at Sams Town and asked for a check. It was late in the evening so I had to wait until the next day to get the check. The credit union I belong to has a shared services agreement with a credit union in Vegas. The next morning I picked up the check an deposited it into the credit union.

did you leave the "no drivers license" minority for greener pastures? hopefully you will win a car to go along with your new shiny license!

You dont suppose this guy thought that if he reported all this money stolen that maybe he wouldnt have to pay taxes on it do ya?......security cameras off....small bump to the head......Hmmmmm
