My initial inquiry was a direct e-mail to the host who has been my contact out there for my last several trips. She got back to me pretty quickly with the free room offer, and things escalated from their. I can't wait to see this bad boy of a room.

I'd love to get her some sort of gift to show how much I appreciate this. What's appropriate?

Meet and greet for LVA? Not sure I can pull that off this time......... There are a couple of you I'd like to meet I think.....

Maybe. All of the convention activities and most of the attendees are downtown at the Venetian. But there was no way I was paying to stay down there when I knew I could get a free room at SP and could just drive in.

Oh, and there are 3 other people staying with us in the room, for $50 pp per night. They will never get another deal like that.

Sweet deal! I love the South Point too.

As to showing your host your appreciation, I think a gift card to an upscale clothing store would be appropriate and appreciated by her.

If this is the same luxury suite we were once in, it was huge! 2500 sq ft is grand! And quite a bit nicer than the regular 2 bdrm.
Conference sized table, large living room area, six stools at the large bar, large bedroom and huge bathroom. Also had a large powder room by the suite entrance. But, only 1 bedroom and 1 massive shower plus jacuzzi in the ensuite. The room was very convenient for entertaining but not so much for accommodating more than 1 couple. We did not have guests during that stay and the space was overkill. We didn't complain! Should be perfect for you - assuming it is a 2bdrm.

We scored ours as an upgrade due to a booking error by the hotel. A very nice fix!

That's exciting to hear. I found a video on youtube that gave a nice 5 minute overview of the room. We are hosting about 20-25 people that first night for a meet and greet so this should be perfect.
