Update on Military Bases and the hiring Freeze

This week, two Child Care Clinics on US Army bases closed due to not being able to provide coverage, thanks to trumps hiring freeze. Dozens are expected to follow in the near future.
Over at the VA, while the freeze doesn't affect the ability to hire Doctors or medical providers, there are 3,000 openings on the clerical and administrative side, with about a dozen more opening each day as people leave or retire. Phone calls to set up appointments are going unanswered.
Thank the Lord we have a CIC who loves the military. After all, he proudly says he always wanted a Purple Heart.

"Defense officials are working with Army officials to ensure the Army bases are aware they have the ability to request authority to hire child care workers, a spokesman said. Officials at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and Army Garrison Weisbaden, Germany, did not immediately respond to Military Times questions regarding whether they were aware of, or had pursued, the hiring exemptions."

"A Feb. 1 Pentagon memo, sent to the heads of all military departments, listed the many categories of workers who are exempt from the freeze. They include “positions providing child care to the children of military personnel."
