Use care when downloading reputable software

I appreciate it Tsu.
I appreciate it when someone posts their experiences with software, web sites, plumbing, anything with the intent to be helpful.
All subsequent responses, whether contradictory, dismissive, old hat, or whatever serve a useful purpose to me.

Like mom's advice about buffets, I take what I need and leave the rest.
Downlaods can be a PITA if you are not diligent.

Always use the "Custom" download option,if offered.

Use "Unchecky" to be helpful.

I have BEEN THERE!
2 minutes to download a program and 1/2 hour to take the crapware out.
I like Spybot search and destroy to scan for malware and other crap ware.

Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty lame.
You run Google Chrome? Sorry.

I dumped that last year.
Too much crap ware sneaked in.
Just "SAVE" a download and inspect it B-4 allowing it to run.
PORN is the worst place to download anything.

Do you LIKE junk mail about penis enlargement?
Need more fuck buddies?

It's like "do not call at all" for your telephone solicitors.
Anti-spam,please.

Be careful and clean your computer often. Do the updates often. Delete browsing history. Run a CD back up every month.Refresh often.
Always turn your computer OFF every night.

I appreciate the tip for sure Tsu and I'm sure I speak for the majority, unfortunately there;s always an asshole around here and it's always the same person(s). I find it's best to completely ignore it, not just not pay attention, actually checking the ignore box.
It's happened on other purely innocent threads where people were just trying to be helpful, informative or whatever. Once an a-hole always an a-hole.
Nice post Tsu.

Fyi the latest crap is search protect and Conduit.

Search protect is part of a toolbar of which takes a bit of work if you have to manually remove it. Conduit is a bit easier but still both take up time to get rid of. (try removing 5 of these a day and you won't be liking the makers of these programs much)
