Can you just imagine if they interviewed Rizzo for that article???

It is nice to see they are interviewing the folks that do all of the hard work to help people have a great time while they are in Vegas.

I do wonder how many bricks of cheese Rizzo has gotten over the years? You know rats and cheese.....

Sheesh, a buck's the average? What happened to the babes who tip a twenty and a nice peek of cleavage for the guy to keep their car close?
A buck's probably the average for two reasons. First, it's a locals casino, not Caesars or the Wynn. Second, the average cash tip is more than a $1, but not everyone tips, so his daily average is probably what he said. Chances are it's more like a $100-120 a day, but he and his coworkers have agreed to claim roughly $80 a day for tax purposes.

Good Luck!

I don't put much faith in people being honest when it comes to cash earnings. I don't blame them, and would do exactly that myself if being interviewed by a reporter. Besides, what does he mean by average- if he parks 40 card and 30 give him a dollar, but 10 give him a ten dollar bill, whats his average? Most common tip was $1, the median tip was $1, but add up his tips and divide by the number of tips($130 divided by 40) and the result is over $3 per car.
I also picked up on that reference to the tax law which probably keeps the valets from telling the world what they really earn each day.

But even at the big casinos, $1 in and $1 out is probably right on average. Heck, Ive seen people leave at the end of a weekend and tell the valet they were sorry but they were broke and couldnt tip -- and Ive seen that more than a few times.

Im more curious about tipping for maid service and bag handlers these days? If there is someone getting less its probably the maids because they lack the face-to-face contact that bell service and valets have with customers.
billryan raises the question of a $10 tip. OK. who here has ever tipped a valet ten dollars? I confess, I never have. My top tip ever was $5 and that was on a rare occassion.
My normal tip is $2. I feel giving $1 is an insult.
