vegas and the debate in october, lol

Does anyone else see the irony in Vegas getting a big debate for the election, yet Obama has sold vegas up the river numerous times when the "recession" hit at the beginning of his terms. A few big government bashes at the M, I believe, with overspending...then also he made a remark about people "living it up" in vegas, etc...can't remember the details...just several vegas bashing in a close period. All of this when the real issues also at this time was DC and (again, memory) but an outrageous breakfast meeting with $28 or so muffins each...I am sure from someone's friends bakery doing the catering.

I just remember him bashing vegas, not coming for a long while, then sneaking in last minute and even said his trip was to boulder or henderson and was for a solar power plant...he intentionally did not say "vegas" during that trip right after his many verbal punches about vegas and wasteful spending....now that hasn't kept his wife and daughter's from many, many "duties", I mean, vacations using his presidential power.

Lol Republicans wanted to turn Nevada into a nuclear waste dump. Obama told them no. I would think again about who was literally selling Vegas up the river.
Maybe a tad bit out of date. I think it was when the above ground nukes were authorized back in early 1951 that nevada was targeted to be nuclear waste site. at least, anything cauterized below a nuke is a defacto nuclear waste. This occurred during the tenure of democrat Harry S Truman, a good two years before a republican broke the 20 or so year span of democratic leadership. It was JFK in in 62 or 63 that ended that particular practice. Obamo didn't have squat to do with any of that.
I must have missed that story about turning Nevada into a nuclear waste dump....or maybe someone is exaggerating? I remember some project to store nuclear waste safely under a mountain in Nevada. If nuclear waste has to go somewhere, that sounds pretty reasonable to me - in a state with very low population, especially in certain regions. Heck, Area 51 fits right in with Nevada. Somehow I think stating the bill's intentions "turning Nevada into a nuclear waste dump" is a just a wee bit disingenuous.

I dont remember Obama bashing Vegas either. i do remember him making the following remark as a metaphor for banks irresponsible spending with bailout money...

"When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college"

And the birthers who cheer for Donald Trump on behalf of his political incorrectness had their feelings crushed in the wake of this comment. They really Are quite sensitive, aren't they?

If he had said something like "You don't blow a bunch of cash on vacations when you're trying to save for college", that would have been encouraging frugal spending during difficult economic times. He singled out Las Vegas. That was bashing Las Vegas.

Were you ridiculing Hillary in 2008 when she was claiming Øbama wasn't born in the USA? If so, I don't remember it...

Sorry, Bobo - even if you keep repeating that lie for the next 50 years it still won't be true...

Just a "wee bit" huh? Mal's great at exaggerating/spinning things in whatever direction he wants.

I stand corrected. It was her supporters that started the birther stuff...toward the end of the primary campaign. I suspect the Chicago crime mob told Bill and Hill to not pursue it, and Hill would be the next anointed one.

Storing nuclear waste 100 miles away from a major population center underground on top of fault lines in state with scarce water resources, what could possibly go wrong? Do you think maybe we could get the guys that built the Fukushima reactors to design the containers to store the waste in? I heard they work really cheap now. Even today,Republicans are fighting to turn Nevada into a dumping ground for other state's nuclear waste (spent fuel rods) even though Nevada doesn't produce any nuclear waste of its own.

Can you think of a better place? I've driven through Nev. (as probably most here have), the state is basically a wasteland for a tremendous amount of it. Again..a better place?

Why didn't the democrats with their super majorities close down the project? Instead obama has illegally used the epa to stall the project.

I support yuca mountain but people of Las Vegas overwhelmingly do not. So you can ask them what bothers them more: people who want to store nuclear material 90 minutes down the road... Or people who correctly say you shouldn't spend college money in Vegas..

Or you can just ask our resident FOX news viewers what Las Vegas residents should think. (You'll geta different answer )
