vegas cabs

If you are staying 3 or more days/nights in Vegas, consider renting a car. The cost of one taxi ride (one way) will normally cover the cost of a day's rent of a car. Plus you can come and go whenever you want and go anywhere you want. No long- hauling, no tipping. Park at any casino with the valet service, tip the valet $2-3 dollars and you won't have to park in a garage and you will avoid the long walk to and from the garage. I have rented a car every visit I have made to Vegas the last 25 years without any negative incidents. I would never consider using a cab- renting a car is the only way for me. Try it, I believe you will never take a cab again if you rent a car just once.
Thanks, everyone for you info.

However, its Saturday and, I'm still in Hawaii.....Had to go to the ER on Tuesday because of a hip injection I had on Monday and, it didn't go well.....Thus, had to cancel trip.

Amen, I think I've taken one cab ride in Vegas. The one cool thing was the guy actually spoke English! Don't see that very often in Boston or New York.
Agree with the rental car...just be sure to have a designated driver...no alcoholic drinks for that person.

What are you talking about? A sober driver at 2:00 am would likely get in the way and cause an accident.

Sorry you had to cancel your trip. Hope everything gets better.
Thanks, Cowboy
Got back from Vegas about a week ago and it was all over the local news about the crackdown on long hauling.
There was so much media about long hauling and how to report it, that I think it will calm down for awhile. This is probably in retaliation for a cabbie strike. Cabs were plentiful and most drivers were in a pretty good mood for a change.
