Las Vegas Fee Happy
Wrong timing for Las Vegas to be doing any type of increases. The one that burns me is the resort fee...just add it to the cost of the room and forget it. Airlines and the baggage fee. just add it to the cost of the ticket and forget it...OH that's right the airlines just double bang you the baggage fee and then the increase in fares. I wish they would just keep it simple..
I don't have a problem with airline bag charges as one can work around that. One can not "work around" a resort fee. Just add it to the room charge.

nickel and dimming us they are.

Thanks for this.

Next restaurant that pulls this on me, it may not work, but before paying I will call the manager over and ask (nicely, I hope) what exactly is this fee? Then I will (nicely, I hope) state that their food charges and taxes were anticipated, but I object to this new thing which was not advertised and please have it removed. I will probably lose, but then I will write to the company, and fill out their on-line survey that the fees are dishonest unless they have a sign at the entrance outlining these fees, and that if this continues I won't patronize their place again.

I suggest that we all start registering our objection to these sneaking restaurant fees, one visit at a time and utilize their online surveys to complain.

The Resort Fee practice went industry wide so we are probably stuck with them. But perhaps public pressure, even one customer at a time, could head off some of these ridiculous new types of restaurant/bar, etc, charges.
Totally ridiculous. I am so tired of all the add'l charges on everything in Las Vegas. They are cutting their own throats in the long run. I no longer consider Las Vegas a destination vacation location. I like to gamble. I will stick with $1 Miller Lite taps at my local Indian casino on Wed. or Thurs. nights with no add'l fees. And the price is only $3.75 on weekend nights with no cover charge live bands!
The example in this article is for a single beer. I will usually leave a little something but it isn't like there was a 1 to 2 hour meal where you enjoyed the hospitality of your server. I'm sure they will make extra revenue initially but it will all of a sudden drop off when people stop going back.
Almost makes you wanna go "Bob Dancer" on their ass and steal stuff from your room.

They'd nail it down if they didn't want you to steal it.

Next comes the "In case you steal stuff from your room" fee.
