Yep,I bought a Plane-Jane one from Sears. Red and slammed stickers (the HELL out of it) to be easy to ID in the carousel. NO!
I never check my bags.I still have trouble with my carry-on wheeled bag.
I can drag that thing behind me,but the pull-out handle is too short for me.
If tall people are shopping for a roller-equipped carry on bag,DRAG it through the store for a bit.
Mine must have made for the average human height person, because that thing snags on the back of my feet.
At 6 feet,it does present a problem.
PJ! What carry on do you have?
There is no practical extension to the handle, that I figure out yet.
It was cheap @ $80. Expandable, zippers are OK. Wheels are fine after some Silicone spray.
When I see what the airline crew drags behind them,I have asked what they paid for it.
Kevlar and Titanium/magnesium/spring steel construction will cost you. $200 US?
4 wheels? Maybe.
Yes many bags look alike, but not mine.
I wouldn't go as far as polka dots, but fabric paint is a GREAT idea. It's called 'personalization'.
Black? NO WAY!
You can see the burly baggage handler load up the 'cart' with the checked bags, right from your airline window. If I were to buy a travel bag designed for travel as a checked bag,it would be HARD sided:
70 pounds maximum,4 wheels,400-pound-gorilla-proof and be able to be dropped from a 4 story building and bounce. Not so much bullet proof/fire resistant.
Yes this IS a 'Vegas topic,Bonnie.
I liked your post about what you like to pack to travel. The extension cord idea was an excellent thing to pack. I owe you a drink for that one.
Rusty nail? That's easy. Thanks.
