A Vegas Suitcase For Christmas!

This week's Vegas Bright article

A Vegas Suitcase for Christmas!

Yep,I bought a Plane-Jane one from Sears. Red and slammed stickers (the HELL out of it) to be easy to ID in the carousel. NO!
I never check my bags.I still have trouble with my carry-on wheeled bag.
I can drag that thing behind me,but the pull-out handle is too short for me.
If tall people are shopping for a roller-equipped carry on bag,DRAG it through the store for a bit.
Mine must have made for the average human height person, because that thing snags on the back of my feet.

At 6 feet,it does present a problem.
PJ! What carry on do you have?

There is no practical extension to the handle, that I figure out yet.
It was cheap @ $80. Expandable, zippers are OK. Wheels are fine after some Silicone spray.

When I see what the airline crew drags behind them,I have asked what they paid for it.
Kevlar and Titanium/magnesium/spring steel construction will cost you. $200 US?

4 wheels? Maybe.
Yes many bags look alike, but not mine.
I wouldn't go as far as polka dots, but fabric paint is a GREAT idea. It's called 'personalization'.
Black? NO WAY!

You can see the burly baggage handler load up the 'cart' with the checked bags, right from your airline window. If I were to buy a travel bag designed for travel as a checked bag,it would be HARD sided:

70 pounds maximum,4 wheels,400-pound-gorilla-proof and be able to be dropped from a 4 story building and bounce. Not so much bullet proof/fire resistant.
Yes this IS a 'Vegas topic,Bonnie.
I liked your post about what you like to pack to travel. The extension cord idea was an excellent thing to pack. I owe you a drink for that one.
Rusty nail? That's easy. Thanks.

Extension cords and Rusty Nails! Two of my favorite things.

The friend I often travel with bought a gorgeous set of silver hard sided "spinners" a few years ago...but within just a few trips they were all scratched to hell. Also that design posed a problem because they opened like a book with clothing in both sides. Unless you have an empty bed next to you to set it on it was not very practical. She does not bring them to Vegas anymore.
Love the Teal Suitcase. I am sure you are certainly going to enjoy this one coming off the carousel. I am going to

Vegas the latter part of March - Mon. night arrival & Departing on a red-eye flight to Toronto arriving at 7:05 am April 1st.

I am hoping to travel with a carryon???? as well as my girlfriend???? Hope it works. As far as reading all about your

last trip as well as your girlfriends read I noticed you suffer from bad leg cramps. I too suffer but have found a couple of great solutions which might work for you Bonnie. Send me

a PM & I will tell you about the 2 things which have really helped me.

Diane, Toronto, Ontario.

Love the new suitcase! What a great Christmas present! It really is amazing how much time you can spend looking for just the right suitcase but it is time well spent.
Very nice! It's even prettier if you click the link. The color shows up better. It's the same brand and very similar style to my new set only mine is navy with a hot pink stripe. I chose navy because it isn't black but still dark enough to hide most of the dirt that will get on it. So far, I haven't seen anyone else with that set. I used Scotch Guard on the pink stripe and it didn't help one bit. It still got that black residue that comes off the baggage carousel. If you can carry it on, it should stay nice but if you check it, it's probably going to get dirty.
Oh Julie...that makes me sad. I thought dirt repellent might help. I can't do carry on. I can't swing heavy suitcases over my head...lol.

I will pm you NannyD.

Thanks Orchid!
