vegas timeline

I was trying to determine when was the first time that I went to vegas. I seem to think it was 1996, give or take a year. I think I flew on American trans air. and I think I stayed at the flamingo or the sahara. since then I have been every year, and in some years as many as 4 times. probably 50 times or more by now. I found a website: vegasclick.com , this was very useful with the timeline and is worth a visit from any vegas die-hard. I may have old credit card or bank statements that may provide answers, but I am not the most organized anymore. I have tried to find old photos with dates imprinted on them but nothing conclusive so far. I was hoping to find a photo of a marquee that would offer clues, but that would be buried somewhere in my hoarder room that I don't dare tread. but if this year or next is indeed my 20th anniversary, I would like to know so that I could make some kind of extra special celebration out of it. any suggestions to jog my memory will be appreciated. and don't forget to check out vegasclick.com

Do you remember seeing any of these during your first trip to Vegas?

the stratosphere opened in april of 96 and monte carlo nov of 96. i am pretty sure the strat was there, cant say for sure about the MC. but I would not have been there that late in the year.

It may be helpful is you could remember the fantastic signs of the casinos.
Time to dig into the old photos, 'cause my first time I did take those pix,when we used film in a camera.
Maybe the throw-away ones.

One more item. Was the Sands Hotel standing when you visited? It came down in November of 1996.
