Vegas Trip Report with Pictures!

Well gang! I had one hell of a trip and I won some cash to! I stayed at the Orleans casino for 4 days, just got home today. Had a small standard room. Check-in was about an hour wait due to a 50’s dress up event plus lots of softball/baseball teams being in town for a tournament. The place was screaming of kids just about everywhere but the casino floor.

First thing I wanted to do and never got a chance until now was try the prime rib loft in the Orleans! I ordered the house shrimp cocktail, the gamblers cut prime rib (black-in) which was great! Also side dishes of mushroom caps, cream corn, bread and some of the BEST chicken noodle soup I had, trust me! I wanted to take a big bowl of this home! Place was about half full for a Sunday night at the Orleans! I had no problems getting seated right away. I gave prime loft 4 out of 5 forks! Great way to start off the trip!

Later that night I headed to the roulette tables. They had $1 bets, $5 dollar play minimum which was right down my alley! Bought in for 100 dollars in chips and turned that into a little over $700 bucks betting $10 dollars on 24 and 27 hitting them both straight up! I’m feeling really good right now! The drinks were coming fast from the beautiful cocktail waitresses. Tried my luck on the wheel of fortune, winning a bit here and there but nothing to write home about. I ended the night just sitting at the alligator bar drinking more beers trying to catch up on some sports bets and waiting for my friends to arrive in town monday from the airport.

Picked up friends from the airport. Pretty much was showing them around town for the day, 2 out of 4 never been to vegas so I drove them around the strip area checking out the newer hotels. We played some slots at the bellagio, wynn, mirage etc, all of us were up and down on winnings, Got some good shot of the bellagio garden.

People that were asking about Ellis island ribs! Well they are VERY VERY GOOD and for $13 bucks (sign up for a players card to get this deal) for a FULL SLAB with two corns on the cob, BBQ beans, cole-slaw and bread, you can’t go wrong! Get there about 30 minutes early because it gets PACKED quickly and most people were waiting for up to 1 hour just to get seated. Yes this is the best deal in town! They also have metro pizza which is VERY GOOD and the restaurant (that’s the name of the place) were you get the famous steak dinner which is also great! They brew their own beer! The Ale beer is the best to me! Just a great over all little place right in back of bally’s casino on Koval Lane. You can walk there from bally’s as we did. Here are some pictures!

Next morning we headed over to the burger bar at the Mandalay bay! I’m used to going to BLT at the Mirage but wanted to change it up and get my hands on that lobster hamburger I been hearing about and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint one bit! It’s VERY good and the lobster was cooked perfect, strawberry milkshake was excellent. I give this place the edge over BLT, both places are great but the kobe lobster burger was out of this world and my friends all agreed to this!

A couple of pictures of the strip as were walking around at night.

New craps machines around a couple of the casinos like the orleans and bellagio

Wonderful Spring Converatory photos!!!--

Excellent representation of our beloved Mecca

Many thanks for my thursday get-me-through-this-day fix
Nice. No pretty girls this trip?

Sometimes when I go to Ellis Island I have the same experience as you: this is the best little casinos and it's so much fun. Great, cheap food and drinks. Then I go back a day later and it's a divey, smoke-filled dump. I can't figure it out.

I need to get the time and get into photo bucket and learn how to add pictures. Great pictures. My time is coming.
Thanks for the report.Great pictures.Especially the ones of the food.(burp)Always enjoy the Vegas pics.
Kev,

I can see that you were definitely trying to watch your daily calories on that trip. Thanks for all of the great pictures.

What restaurant is this? I passed by it when I went through the mall in front of Aria.

This is City Center Mall. Crystals they call it?

Isn't "Crystals" the name of the mall, or is that the name of the restaurant that is suspended by the odd sculpture?
