Vegas VIP Villas, Suites Opening To All

Las Vegas Opening up Suites to all All those big high roller suites that were at on time only reserved for the whales are now in your reach if you have the $$$$$
That's how my wife rolls.
We don't gamble in nearly high enough denominations to get a comped room much less a whale worthy suite but my wife loves staying in fancy hotel suites. (Everyone has their vice). About once a year we stay at one of the Sky lofts at MGM. She once rented a large suite at the Palms, it was a little worn out for that kind of money. We complained about the quality and actually had one night taken off the bill.
Through a friend we stayed at a Villa at the Bellagio. Now this was a true "whale's suite". Three bedrooms, private swimming pool, private (not shared but part of the suite) salon and massage room. Personal butler and available chef in a full gourmet kitchen.

So I just asked the legal department (my wife) how much she pays for some of these suites. I honestly don't remember if I paid attention at all.
Man did I just catch a load of insults for being cheap. I was accused of finding and picking pennies up off the ground and throwing them into a copper mine to increase the output value of the ore........That's not a bad idea. I'm going out to look for pennies now.
Wow, some of those rooms look amazing. Hefty price tags though! Makes you wonder if you had enough money to spend $30k a night....would you do it? Or would you feel like you are wasting good money that could help benefit the world you live in. How many lives could you change for the better vs one night of awesomeness in a Casino?
$30,000 a night????? For the cost of four nights, you could buy a fairly nice house in Vegas and use it anytime you want. I'm not cheap but I do understand the value of a dollar.

All the times we've stayed at Bellagio and looked down from our window at the Villas, day or night we have never ever seen a living soul, other than one time a worker doing something to a shrub. Sounds like a lovely time, though. Maybe one of these days...
While we're on the subject, I watched "Last Vegas" a few weeks ago and it got me thinking...Would a place like Aria really comp a suite like that to a guy off the street for winning 100 Grand?? Even if they did, I don't think I would take it. I would ask for something a lot smaller and see if I could get my food and drink bill taken care of. If I'm in Vegas, I'm not going to be in the room that much anyway so why waste it.

My guess is that those days are mostly over. In the old days, yeah, like in the movies. Before the mega corporations were up to their eyeballs in debt.

A friend recently hit for $40K at an upscale Strip casino. Afterwards, he asked about a comped room...the answer was no but they would give him casino rate.

Would it make sense to comp the winner a night or two? To me it would. Am I smarter than the corporate people? Guess not.
