My recent experience--used to get offers last year of $250 promo chips + $50 dining credit + comp'd 2 nights from P/V (play mostly table games). Past few years only stayed there once per year for 2 nights each, and gave them $100--$200 / hand Baccarat play for 4-5 hrs each day. Emailed my host for a 2 night stay in Jan 11 and he told me all offers have been discontinued, and could not be honored anymore. He was kind enough to offer me 2n comp room + $200 FB. I passed.

Not happy at all about all this, but apparently having a host there at P/V helps.

I don't understand why you turned down 2 nights at a great property plus $200?

apparently it is, since he was offered the comped nights
here is my summary of the thread:

original post was made

moneyla replied that he was skeptical to believe it because the poster doublebooked. he made it clear that THIS was what made him skeptical, as if this was such an unheard of thing.

then lva members came and posted "uh, double booking happens all the time"

and then rather than admit he was wrong, he instead, chose to strike up a new "point" which is double booking is wrong.

the end.

I am sorry to say this but I am skeptical of this story... Not you blonde but the poster you quoted. There are several red flags. The first is that they doubled booked a long time ago. Why would they double book? Did they expect trouble? Perhaps they abused the comp system and were not entitled to the comped rooms? Super weekend is one of the busiest in vegas and it wouldn't surprise me if management could not extend extra comps to someone who really didn't deserve them. Had they not double booked I would not have these suspicions. Sorry and I hope I'm wrong.

We are currently at the airport but felt a need to reply to this post. so heres how this went down from the beginning. This offer popped into our in box in Sept. We were very surprised by it due to the length of the offer, up until April 1 of 2011. We called right away, didn't even just do it online and spoke with a customer service person and of course we asked the all important question are we blacked out from any dates and she answered with New Years eve only. Super Bowl weekend was a go, so we booked it received the confirmations (which we still have BTW) AND THOUGHT WERE GOOD TO GO. In Dec another prop that we play at offered us "The Big Game" whole works comped weekend which came with party Fri. night and of course the Big Game party on Sunday and 3 nights. Since we attended this weekend last year at this prop and had such a good time we decided to book it as well and wasn't it a damn good thing we did as it turned out! We figured we would offer one set of rooms to a friend or family and actually use the rooms at the Palazzo because it was right on the strip. The other prop that gave us the offer was yes, The Hilton and if you know anything about Vegas is well off the strip. so thats the whole story, BTW there was an excellent article in the business section of the Las Vegas sun on Fri. explaining the Sands new marketing stratedgy and its not good news for anyone who enjoyed actually gambling at those props.

melbedewy--guess it was because I wasn't getting what my offers were supposed to give me. Expectations are a funny thing, when you're promised $300 ($250 promo+$50 dining) and they take it away only to give you $200, that loss of $100 looms large in one's thinking!

KarenTN--the only reason I did get anything was because I knew a host there. Had I just contacted Casino Services as listed on the offer, I would have been told SOL. That's why having some relationship with a host helps out--but prob is it is darn hard to get a host in the first place, esp at high end properties.

This raises another red flag for NoMoneyLA: They are replying from the airport, which he never has done, so it is impossible for the rest of us to do...

next up: moneyla discusses how selfish and unethical it is to increase your carbon footprint by posting from the airport.
So, after reading 6 pages of replies (dope that I am ) the conclusion to the OP's predicament is:

Sheldon is a scumbag & is screwing us by not honoring previously booked & confirmed reservations. Right ???

i would be very carefull about march madness dates. If you've got something booked for that time period and Mr Addelson has alot of convention business in town, you might found yourself in the same boat as us. As I said we never questioned the fact they in fact DO have a right to do it, you just don't wait until 60 hours of our arrival to do it. BTW her exact verbage was and i quote, ''we have cancelled your complimentary offer and we are prepared to offer you those same 3 nights at the casino rate, just so we are all on the same page here!
We also discussed at great length with our Wynn/Encore host and a fellow host this very topic. There plans is to continue being consistent. We paid a reduced rate at the Encore our first time actually staying at the prop. Then, warrented by our play we received comp nights etc. We also ended up with this host and she offered us the Super Bowl party at the Encore, so darn we i guess ended up doubling booking again! And yes we did go to both.
BTW did not put one red cent of my money into the slots at the Sands props, used all my free play up and manafed to almost double my money in cash.
Thanks for all the support and thanks Blonde for getting this situation out.
