Venetian/Palazzo RESCINDING offers that have already been booked!!!

slapinfunk and others of his ilk - I don't have to apologize for how I handle my offers and it is really none of your moronic business. If the casinos make offers to me I am under no obligation to accept the offer, and if I do accept the offer I will use the offer to my advantage. The casinos were built and survive on the donations of those who have more money than common sense. Donate to their coffers if you wish. I go to Vegas to enjoy myself, gamble and get away from it all. I don't "owe" any casino anything other than a fair shake at my bankroll- and even that is getting harder to find as the bean counters keep changing the rules (6/5 blackjack, lower payoffs for slot and video games, asinine resort fees, early check in fees ,etc.). I will also play where ever I want - I owe no allegiance to any property. When ever you start paying my bills , then and only then, you can tell me how to spend my money and time. Meanwhile, go ahead and sit your arse down and donate to whom ever you wish while dancing to the tune that the casinos play.

nowadays its so overrun with idiots.

So do comments like that make you one too?

its not comments like that that make me an idiot. its the fact i keep reading this board even though its overflowing with terrible posters who have nothing to contribute other than instant arguing over ANYTHING, whether or not they even have a vaild point.

So true! I guess it's better than if you were to keep going back to crack or some other drug.
Kaypea has quoted the small print. Very good, Kaypea. Next, some of you should ask your hosts about the requirements of "stay where you play." And perhaps, as was pointed out you are "overplaying" to justify the comps you get.

LVS felt the comps system had been unprofitable or even abused, and now LVS is changing the system.

It would not surprise me if other companies follow LVS' lead.

In fact, Harrahs (Caesars) already has. Comps are not as generous as they once were even for 7 Stars. Harrahs started to scale back its comps about six months ago.

DrMilled criticises the "beancounters." Damn, its their business. Comps are a lure to get you in. If they dont work, they get pulled or reduced. I suggest that the "abuse" of comps is one reason they get scaled back or reduced. Do you think you are "entitled" to your comps?

All of us are paying for the abuse of the comp system by others. Just as all of us are paying for those who default on their credit cards, file bankruptcy, and all of us pay for the cost of credit card fraud. We all just paid dearly for the abuse of the mortgage system. In fact we are still paying with a 10% unemployment rate.

The casinos are in business to make money. they will do what they do to make money.

Don't like it? Parker Brothers has a wonderful selection of home games such as Scrabble.

Whatever. Bottom line is they want your play and could care less if you sleep at all..

At least you do realize that they care if you actually stay there or not. Although I'd guess they'd be quite happy for you to stay at the hotel but spend 24 hours a day gambling in the casino.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

I don't spend all my time in one casino .........ever. I'm actually quite sure they don't care if you actually stay there or not as long as you give them a reasonable amount of play. No .....I'm positive.
Absolutely right, Gabby-Girl!

MoneyLA -- this statement "as was pointed out you are "overplaying" to justify the comps you get." proves to me that you really didn't comprehend my post.

You're certainly "entitled" to your opinion, just as I feel I am "entitled" to my comps. If those comps go away so will my play. It's as simple as that.

OK. That's just the opposite of what you said before when you agreed they do care if you stay or not. Who says people never change their mind on the internet.
I don't think I ever said they actually *care* about your staying there.
You guys can do what ever you want, play as little or as much as you want where ever you want. That's fine. I am glad you are enjoying your vacations that's awesome. That's what this is all about. But if you are playing the min, don't be surprised when you are cut off...

Yes this varies depending on your play... if your prancing around town playing single line nickle slots with your offers, I wouldn't expect much comps in the future... if your playing to and or over the casinos expectations that's a story on its own...

Everyone does a vegas trip the way they want to... some go to a bar, some waste away in a poker room, some do nothing but gamble, some go to spas, some eat in Restaurants, some go to shows, its what ever is fun to you! Just don't expect the world from a casino on a big weekend for free unless your play is going to back it up.

When I need a break from video poker I go to the poker room in caesars for a little bit. And EVERYONE these kids are asking for a comped room. I tell them you are out of your mind, go learn how to play video poker and you will get comped... playing poker for 8 hours will get you a "player rate" but nothing near a comped stay...
