Venetian/Palazzo RESCINDING offers that have already been booked!!!

" I'm questioning a casino accepting a players reservation and then canceling it. If they are really doing it the place should be boycotted for sure. "

They didn't cancel it..they just told him it was no longer comped. They were happy to have him if he PAID...
Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall at V/P right now?

Their marketing department and hosts are clearly going to take the heat for this....all due to a stupid owner who is trying to impress some investment analysts.

People are getting rooms there via Priceline for $130-150/nt. Good luck covering your nut with room rentals and food.

Steve Wynn must be pissing himself reading what a bone head move this guy made. To have the CEO come out and in essence say that we don't want your business to the major segment of his market is a major faux pas.

A point was made that rings very true....if they did it to you once, they can just as easily do it to you again. It's a low class move to rescind offers after they've been made. There is a certain level of trust when you make a reservation and for them to change the rules after the fact is just plain unethical.

I'm looking forward to using my ACG coupon there for $25 in free play, running it through and hitting the door....that's assuming that they'll still be honoring that. The bad publicity is going to be ugly....couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

Actually, I'd bet ole' Steveo has one on his face because Mr.A-hole just flipped off the folks that bring in the money. Wynn did a major move during the recession by offering free/reduced rate rooms to bring folks in, lets see what happens as the word spreads that the V/P are treating their customers like garbage.

Chef, Sue... as chef summed it up: "according to the LVRJ article, they dropped comps for everybody EXCEPT their top teir folks."

there ya go. Im not saying its "polite" but clearly this guy didnt have the action that warranted comped rooms or the accommodations he wanted. casinos can pull their comps. sorry. thats what happened.

No, what's it saying is that you don't spend the top amounts (which is waaay out of the league for 90% of the folks out there, you don't mean crap to us)

The point here is the reservations were made and at that time their play was good enough for free rooms and now Mr. A-Hole changed the rules mid stream.

Please note here: There was NO, I repeat NO problems with their play prior to getting this notice.
Damn, sorry that LVS changed their policy, but thats life. They changed their guidelines for comps. They offered a casino rate to this player. Sorry it happened. But if their play was "good" during their stay, Im sure it would be comped at the end of their stay as it is with all players whose action warrants comps. End of story.
One more thing. I think its ironic that some of believe it is ok to double book and you have no regard for the costs you impose on the property that doesn't get your business.
Who said they don't get our business? I'm booked at three properties over the weekend in two weeks. All three will get action out of me. The casinos make the rules -- you have to take the room to get the components of the offer. I might not want to stay at the hotel, but like the casino, so there's no reason for me not to book the offer.

Hey, there are even times I just book a room without any goodies added and don't end up staying the night. I just did that January 8th at Harrah's Las Vegas. I drove into town to hang out with a friend and thought I would spend the night, so I booked a room. When I checked in they upgraded me to a suite. I never even went to the room. I gambled all day long ($48k coin in) and donated $3500 to their bottom line. Decided at midnight I didn't want to stay, so got in my car and made the 4 hour drive home.
But they DO get your business. Every time I've double-booked, I've made a point of playing at the casino where I was not sleeping, enough play to ensure future offers. They don't care if you sleep there, as long as you play there.

You just don't get it.

Edited to add: Mare, you were posting while I was typing, lol. Great minds ...
Damn Sue and you even work for a casino company. Wow. And you wonder why comps are being cancelled?? You guys are killing the golden goose by abusing the privilege. Of course chances are you won't understand what Im saying.
