Voter citizenship?

What one should be referring to is The Voting Act of 1965.

The "Voting Rights Act of 1965" was intended to prohibit racial discrimination in voting. It does not address and especially does not reduce the Constitutional requirement that a voter be a citizen, . . . the question at issue in this thread.
EDITED TO ADD
Section 5 of The Voting Rights Act of 1965 has been/is being referenced to challenge changes to voting requirements instituted by some State authorities.
These are just the sort of questions working their way through the courts to which DonDiego referred in his earlier post.
In any case the Constitution trumps any Law, . . . or it's supposed to anyway.

No one is arguing you have to be a citizen to vote. Nor does this ruling change that one bit.
Not really sure why any intelligent person would think it does. Nor am I sure if any does.
The 1965 Act addresses what is required to register, the only thing in question in the decision, despite the amazing misunderstanding posters here are showing.

Isn't it a little early to be making excuses for Donald Trump's massive annihilation in November?

The only people committing voter fraud are in Trump's campaign.

Trump campaign chief registered to vote in Vacant house in FLorida
And to vote in Massachusetts one time, Mitt Romney claimed that his primary residence was in his son's unfinished basement. So either you have to imagine Governor Romney actually living there, or you have to imagine him as a voter fraud criminal.

I don't want to hear about this from Republicans. They have to clean up their own act first.

when all else fails commit voter fraud.

What in the hell does this have to do with non-citizens being allowed to vote? Do you have no reading comprehension skills? BTW, if you want to talk about carpet baggers, you need to go no further than Hillary.
From the Urban Dictionary:

Urban DIctionary

carpet bagger
In the post-US Civil War South, carpetbaggers were Northerners who moved to the South to take advantage of the unstable social, financial, and political climate. They were called "carpetbaggers" to imply that they were such poor, transient characters that they merely moved south carrying all their possessions in a carpet-bag. A carpet-bag, by the way, isn't a bag for carrying carpet, but a soft-sided suitcase or satchel made out of carpet.

Today, the phrase refers to someone who moves to a new location for opportunistic reasons.
Hillary is a carpet bagger.

No doubt about it, the hill is the modern day textbook example of a carpetbagger. She and her staff had the easiest district she could win all picked out by the time they left the WH (along with half of all the WH property).
Ah, carpetbagging vs. voter fraud. Let's take a look.

Carpetbagging (allegedly Secretary Clinton) is completely legal.
Voter fraud (allegedly Mr. Trump's campaign CEO, and the Republican presidential nominee in 2012) is illegal.

Does anyone else notice the subtle distinction. Republicans have nothing to say on illegal voter fraud until they clean up their own act.
Had to show ID at the airport to get to Vegas.
Had to show ID at the grocery store to use credit card to get food.
Had to show ID at gas station to get gas.
Had to show ID at store to get a six pack of beer.
You got problems with showing ID to vote.
