Voter IDs

The question was do YOU really believe that there are only 30 incidents out there? Just looking for you to once come up with an opinion of your own, not something from some liberal blog.

I don’t know how he feels about it, but I will state unequivocally that it is not a problem.

Exactly where is the monetary waste that is alleged to be involved in looking at an ID card?
I don't get charged at the store for showing an ID to use credit (etc.) I'm not aware of an ID surcharge at airlines or rental agencies.
I'm not sure that I get charged for showing ID at other places or events.
Please enlighten me.
I will explain, but enlightening you is probably beyond my abilities.

The beginning of this thread asked about finger print scanning, and implementing that would not be free. And what about the cost of sending officials to the homes of all of those Republicans who absentee vote. Or if you are going to exempt them from the ID requirement, why?

And unless you are going to give a head start to everyone who drives, which would be un-American, you'll have to come up with a new voter ID card, which would be expensive. All to eliminate about 30 verified cases of voter impersonation out of the last billion votes. Fiscal conservatives at work!

Of course election fraud is a problem, but voter impersonation is so rare it borders on being an urban legend. And Happy Halloween! - it's kind of like the urban legend of kids being poisoned by stranger's trick-or-treat candy. I bet you believe that one too.

First, Mali I don't give a fat rat's ass what you think.....you have zero credibility. Further, like Forkie you seem to have trouble reading.....I'll expand below.

Forkie, I thank you for trying to enlighten me, I'm truly gratified that you would take your valuable time to try to educate a poor, downtrodden conservative. However, reading is a skill comrade. I clearly said that multiple voters or the dead voting was not much of a threat, on that we seem to agree. On voter ID your fight to keep the ineligible voting is not something to be proud of. Presenting ID is not too tough a task. Yes, drivers license would be good.....a picture ID from the state would be good. But tell the truth once again, you don't want voter ID because you PREFER to have anyone vote. As I've said previously, you can't be a productive citizen without ID......so why allow anyone to vote early and vote often?

What state issued photo I'd do you think a non driving senior citizen has?
When my Mother lost her Retired Military ID a few years back, she had nothing else. Her passport had expired years before and her drivers license was surrendered when she was declared legally blind. The closest place to get a new ID was Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn, some forty miles away. I had to take a day off to drive her and when we got to the front gate, it was a real hassle to get in without her ID.
I didn't research every state on the map, but on the surface it would appear that every state has a non-driver's ID available:

On his way to Ft Hamilton billy could have stopped at any one of a dozen DMV offices to get his mother's non-driver photo id.

I guess billy isn't as smart as he claims to be
But easy doesn't fit the liberal narrative.

So to prevent a repeat of the horrors of voter impersonation, which has ben documented in 30 out of the last billion votes cast:

1. Someone with a driver license just votes.

2. Someone without a driver license:
  • gets to take the time and expense of sending away for a copy of their birth certificate,
  • if they changed their name, gets to take the time and expense of getting a copy of their marriage license,
  • gets to travel to and spend time on lines at the local DMV (FUN!).

So which demographic is more likely to vote? Any voting system that favors one demographic over another is un-American.
  • Yet another completely insincere and disingenuous post from our board liberal. There are people in third world countries who wait hours in line to be able to vote, even with the threat of violence being committed against them. We have lazy people who won't get an ID. Mind you both the Democrats and the Republicans will send a car and take them to the proper place to get an ID.

Just remember in Forkie's absurd numbers game, there are only a few airline terrorist attacks per year, yet hundreds of millions of people fly. Does that mean we should do away with checking photo IDs? Of course not.
