Was 2015 the warmest year on record?

It's really sad that republicans refuse to acknowledge the scientific consensus about climate change. They'd rather see the coastline get swallowed up by the sea than admit Al Gore was right about something.

But I thought Gore predicted doom and gloom a whjile back. What was his movie that said as much and had all the environmentalists freaking and running for high ground? Personally I don't agree or disagree with global warming really, I just don't subscribe to the latest knee jerk reactions on much of anything (Al Gore is a perfect example of what NOT to fall for). The earth has gone through heating and cooling cycles forever, who's to say this one is caused by us? There's absolutely no 100% positive way to determine that just yet.

And why is that strictly an accusation against republicans? Dems aren't allowed to deny any of that stuff? Nothing worse than someone who just sees rep.'s as one uniform homogeneous entity, same goes for dem.'s. Seeing things in such black and white is pretty retarded IMO.

Gore was so worried about the oceans rising that he bought a mansion near the ocean. He also is so concerned about global warming that he goes jetsetting in his private jet, has two mansions, and drives around in a limo. Of course he believes he has done his part when he pays the Christmas tree grower for carbon credits.

I also recall that we were to have horrible hurricanes, when in fact there have been fewer of them at lower strength.

The one thing the liberals never do on this board is open their eyes and minds and think. While temperatures did go up slightly on the earth, they also went up on Venus and Mars. Now I know they are too dense to see the problem and people like Billy will say "So?", but that ought to be an indicator that perhaps it is the sun.

I generally don't have to "think" about Climate Change. I'm not a climate scientist. I defer my thinking and studying to people with the proper credentials to study it - like NASA scientists. Al Gore does the same.

None of our resident conservatives are Climate scientists either....but they defer their thinking to right wing special interest groups - like The Heartland Institute.

I don't defer my thinking to anybody, I prefer tothink for myself. I see, hear and read many things, but like I said, I do my thinking for myself. Too bad most people let others do their thinking for them. Sheeple are what some refer to them as.

I look forward to reading your comprehensive research and findings regarding the effects of the Industrial Revolution on climate. You might want to consider getting some kind of degree in that field as a first step.

In the meantime I'll get my information from people who know what they are talking about.

So do you consider an organization that claims that cigarette smoke is not dangerous and refers to those who disagree with them on some scientific beliefs "murderers, tyrants, and madmen" credible.

I bet a younger version of you would laugh at what you've turned into. Or cry.
Waem weather is good for people

And besides, . . . there's always Canada.
Since when is skepticism unhealthy?

Didn't the consensus of the scientific community agree the earth was flat?

Yes they did but there is always more to the story.

The consensus agreed the Earth was flat even though they knew it was not true. They publicly agreed because it was politically correct to do so.

Actual temperature change has been below the estimates provided by all the global warming fear mongers.

First it was was global cooling that was going to destroy the earth, then we had global warming & when that wasn't working out it became climate change.

Gore said 10 1/2 years ago that the the earth had 10 years left. The 10 years was up last January & we are still here.

Last Friday NYC was told we were going to be hit with a tropical storm on Saturday. Actual weather on Saturday was sunny low 80's. So much for accurate weather forecasting.

Could it be that some % of scientists today do not show skepticism of global warming claims because it is politically incorrect to do so?
