My home casinos are quite deuces-challenged, with the best game generally being Illinois Deuces--aka Airport (McCarran) Deuces, aka pseudoNotSoUgly Deuces. This game comes in at just under 99% payback, or just over 99% with cashback.
Yesterday I chose a poor sister of this game (WRF/5K/SF paying 20/12/10 instead of 25/15/9), but with a progressive natural royal of nearly $1850. I believe this raised the game to .33% better than pNSUD, but still well under 100%.
Early in the game I was dealt suited AKQT with a deuce. Normally in a deuce game you hold a pat WRF over four to the natural royal. But the natural royal was so high and the wild royal paid 20 instead of the usual 25, so I decided to drop the deuce. A later check at home on my analyzer proved that my play was by far the best option. But I got nothing.
Then came a very freaky event. Not many hands later I held a single deuce. On the draw I picked up AKQT of clubs to complete a wild royal. (The same ranked royal cards as what I held several hands earlier, and possibly the same suit--I didn't note the suit the first time, but recall that it was black. So either clubs or spades.)
I don't think computer programs have a sense of humor or nasty streak or any kind of agenda. But maybe it retained and repeated something in its recent memory. Anyone have any similar experiences?
